Thanks to a leak shared by YouTube channel ZONEofTECH , we have the first unofficial view of the PlayStation 5 Developer Kit that is now available to video game studios around the world.

Devkit models for PlayStation 5 are already in the hands of video game developers

The photo was apparently taken on Thursday, October 10, by the person who leaked the information. Most importantly, it confirms the previous patent design leak originally discovered by the Dutch website LetsGoDigital . The image of the patent and that of this design coincide almost completely.

The leaked image also provides us with additional information on ports and buttons. There appear to be six USB ports, while the buttons include ON / STANDBY, RESET, EJECT, SYSTEM INIT, and NETWORK INIT. Of course, this is a model only created for video game development, so the console that will be released in stores in late 2020 will look completely different.

The V-shaped cooling design is not something we see every day, although in fact the console will need a lot of cooling power. Sony confirmed that it uses an AMD Zen 2 (7nm) processor with eight cores and sixteen threads, and an AMD Radeon Navi for graphics with Ray Tracing acceleration.

PS5 hardware includes a custom drive for 3D audio, a custom SSD that is reportedly crucial in game development for the new console, an Ultra HD Blu-ray optical drive that supports discs of up to 100 GB and 4K Blu-ray video format, an improved controller that includes a larger battery, USB-Type C connectivity, adaptive triggers, and haptic motors.

We also know that the sleep state of the game will consume much less power than in the case of the PlayStation 4.

PlayStation 5 has been confirmed for next year's holiday season. Most likely, we will know much more about it in a few months, as Sony could replicate the 'PlayStation Meeting' event that was held to present the PlayStation 4 in 2013. So you could see the look of the console in its final stage in the first months of next year. We will keep you informed.
