Qnap launches new 4-core ANNAS with qvpc technology for SMEs

QNAP Systems, Inc. Announces the Launch of Two New Professional NAS Series for SMBs, the Turbo NAS TS-x53 Pro (available in 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-bay tower) and SS-x53 Pro series for 2.5 ″ (in 4 and 8 bays). Both provide a powerful and reliable solution for data storage and mission-critical professional applications in small and medium-sized enterprises and include the exclusive QvPC technology, which turns the NAS into a simple PC with direct access to stored data, video surveillance in real-time with local viewing, XBMC digital entertainment, etc.

The TS-x53 Pro and SS-x53 Pro series feature a 2.0 GHz Intel® Celeron® Quad-Core processor with speeds of up to 2.41GHz and 8GB / 4GB / 2GB of DDR3L RAM. In addition, they have 2 or 4 LAN ports that provide up to 400MB / s read and write speed in port trunking mode and reach a read and write speed of 70+ MB / s with 256-bit AES encryption.

The new series also include QNAP's exclusive QvPC technology that enables users to run Turbo NAS models like a PC when connected to a keyboard, mouse and monitor. With QvPC technology, any TS-series and SS-x53 Pro NAS is transformed into an economical device with all the functions of a PC so that users can directly access the data stored on the NAS, run multiple applications using virtual machines Based on Windows / Linux / UNIX / Android, surf the web with Google Chrome, enjoy Full HD videos with up to 7.1 audio channels with XBMC, control the Surveillance Station in real time with local display and much more.

Users can install the Virtualization Station from the QTS App Center to extend the functionality of the new series by running multiple virtual machines based on Windows, Linux and UNIX. The Virtualization Station offers numerous functions, including snapshots, VM import / export, dedicated LAN ports, user permissions, etc. Users can conveniently operate virtual machines as remote desktops through web browsers for instant management or troubleshooting.

The TS and SS-x53 Pro series, with their integrated hardware acceleration, offer excellent real-time and offline Full HD video transcoding capabilities to convert videos on the fly or in the background to universal formats that can be played smoothly on computers and mobile devices. Even with limited bandwidth, users can still enjoy the videos by selecting a lower resolution and play the videos through File Station, Video Station, or the Qfile mobile app. Multiple users can simultaneously view different videos stored on the NAS without affecting the performance of other running applications.
