QNAP today released QTS 4.4.1 beta 3, which is the latest version of the brand's acclaimed NAS operating system. Starting today, NAS users will receive the update for QTS 4.4.1 beta 3. QNAP is pleased to invite users to join the Beta Program and provide feedback to further improve QTS.

QNAP presents beta 3 of QTS 4.4.1

The highly anticipated VJBOD Cloud, the block-based cloud storage gateway service, is now available in QTS 4.4.1 beta 3. VJBOD Cloud allows you to allocate cloud storage space for a NAS as block-based cloud volumes.

New beta available

It is presented as a secure and scalable method both for storing user data and local applications and for safely backing up. Local cache support enables low latency accessibility that will improve access speed issues. VJBOD Cloud offers compatibility with ten cloud object storage services. The local cloud caching and cloud storage mount features in VJBOD Cloud enable a LAN data access speed similar to that of a LAN.

Aside from VJBOD Cloud, QNAP NAS also supports CacheMount, a file-based cloud storage gateway service that enables local caching for connected cloud storage, offering a complete cloud experience hybrid that will respond optimally to the multiple needs of users. CacheMount replaces the Remote Mount feature on File Station and Connect to Drive in the cloud. Users have to install CacheMount in the App Center to use remote mount services. Other key QTS 4.4.1 beta news and enhancements include, but are not limited to:

• The Multimedia Console consolidates all QTS multimedia applications into a single utility, allowing easy and centralized management of multimedia applications. The Multimedia Console also allows you to configure a shared CacheMount folder as a transcoding folder in the background. File Station integrates Microsoft Office Online Users can centrally create and manage VJBOD Cloud volumes in Storage and Snapshots and use Resource Monitor to monitor VJBOD cloud volumes.
