Qnap officially presents qts 4.4.1

QNAP leaves us today with an important novelty. The company today released QTS 4.4.1. In addition to integrating Linux Kernel 4.14 LTS to offer compatibility with next-generation hardware platforms, it is advancing the usability of the NAS by incorporating highly anticipated services, such as a cloud storage gateway that facilitates the use of applications and storage in a hybrid cloud, source-based deduplication to optimize backup and recovery efficiency, a Fiber Channel SAN solution, etc.

QNAP Officially Introduces QTS 4.4.1

As usual, the company leaves us with a series of new functions in this version. All the functions, announced by the firm itself are as follows:

Key QTS 4.4.1 new apps and features:

• HybridMount - File-based cloud storage gateway

  The old CacheMount tool has been enhanced under the name HybridMount to integrate NAS devices with leading cloud services and enable low latency access to cloud data via local cache. Users can also take advantage of QTS 'versatile features, such as file management, editing, and multimedia applications, for cloud storage connected to the NAS. On the other hand, users can also use the remote mount service to mount cloud space or remote storage with the HybridMount app and access data centrally through File Station. VJBOD Cloud - Block Based Cloud Storage Gateway

  VJBOD Cloud enables cloud object storage (including Amazon S3®, Google Cloud ™ and Azure®) to be assigned to a QNAP NAS as a block-based cloud LUN and volumes in the cloud, offering a secure and scalable method to the time to back up local application data. Mounting cloud storages with the VJBOD Cloud Cache Engine enables a cloud data access speed similar to that of a LAN. The data stored in the cloud will be synchronized with the storage space on the NAS to ensure continuity of service in case the cloud fails. HBS 3 Introduces QuDedup Technology to Optimize Backup Time and Storage

  QuDedup technology eliminates redundant data at the source to reduce backup size, saving time, bandwidth, and storage space for backup. Users can install QuDedup Extract Tool on their computer and easily restore deduplicated files to their normal state. HBS also supports TCP BBR Congestion Control to dramatically improve extranet data transfer speeds by backing up data to the cloud. QNAP NAS as a Fiber Channel SAN solution

  QNAP NAS devices installed with compatible Fiber Channel adapters can be easily installed in NAS environments to provide high performance storage and backup for today's data intensive applications, while allowing Users take advantage of the many benefits of QNAP NAS, including snapshot protection, automatically tiered storage, SSD cache acceleration, and more.   QuMagie, the next generation Photo Station, includes an optimized user interface, a timeline scrolling feature, an integrated AI-based photo organization, customizable folder covers, and a powerful search tool, offering a solution Ultimate photo management and file sharing. Multimedia Console centralizes the management of multimedia applications

  Multimedia Console consolidates all QTS multimedia applications into one application, allowing easy and centralized multimedia application management. Users can select the source files for each media application and adjust the permission settings. Flexible management of the Qtier SSD RAID level

  Users can flexibly remove an SSD from a RAID SSD group to change or add SSDs, or change the RAID SSD type or SSD type (SATA, M.2, QM2) when necessary to improve the efficiency of the Automatic tiering of storage. Automatic Encryption Drives (SED) ensure data protection
