Rage 2 is in development by avalanche studios and id software

Bethesda has officially announced Rage 2, a new open-world first-person shooter game developed by Avalanche Studios. This new installment will be the successor to id Software's Rage, developed under the supervision of John Carmack, so it should live up to its name.

Rage 2 is being developed by Avalanche Studios, the same folks behind the Just Cause and Mad Max games, and has also worked with Bethesda on two other titles. Bethesda has officially released the game's first trailer for Rage 2, which showcases a wealth of action with tons of clans, mutants, cars, and more. The game takes place in the year 2185, with ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roaming the open roads and tyrannical authority seeking to rule who is left with an iron fist.

A new set of information points to Avalanche Studios co-developing this game with the original id Software developers, where Avalanche Studios will take care of the open-world aspect of the game, while id Software will take care of the FPS part.

Finally, it has been confirmed that the game will not have random content boxes, although it will include micro-payments, which are increasingly common within the industry, a sad reality. Bethesda is expected to reveal more information at E3 2018, we will be on the lookout for new information to come as soon as possible.
