Choosing a good chassis can be one of the most complicated tasks when assembling a new PC, this component will limit the possibilities of expansion of our equipment in the future and the cooling capacity, so we must be very careful with its choice. The Raijintek Asterion is one of the best chassis that we can find on the market with a very attractive design and wide possibilities in terms of expansion and cooling. If you want to know more about him, don't miss our complete review in Spanish.

First of all we thank the Raijintek team for giving us the Asterion for analysis.

Raijintek Asterion: unboxing and analysis

The new Raijintek Asterion chassis comes to us inside a large cardboard box in which we find the name of the model, an image and the most important specifications. The back of the box includes an expanded view of the chassis in which we are shown in more detail some of its most notable features.

We open the box and we can see that the chassis is very well presented and protected by three pieces of cork that are responsible for preventing its movement during transport. With this, the manufacturer ensures that it reaches the final consumer in the best possible conditions. We also find a bag with all the screws and the different accessories necessary for mounting the equipment.

We look at the Raijintek Asterion itself and we see a chassis with a full size, it measures 230 × 464 × 525 mm and weighs 10.5 kilos, making it a very robust unit, in terms of materials we find aluminum in its outer part and steel in the inner part. This combination provides a high quality finish and maintains a fairly moderate weight for a product in its range. This chassis allows us to install an E-ATX / ATX / Micro ATX / Mini ITX format motherboard inside, thus covering the needs of all users.

On its side we find a large high quality tempered glass window, a detail that will delight the most hardware fans, who will be able to admire all the components of their system while they are working. There are more and more components with an RGB light system installed so it will be very easy for us to build a team with a spectacular aesthetic, it would be a shame not to be able to appreciate it from the outside… luckily raijintek has thought about it.

The Raijintek Asterion offers a very minimalist yet attractive look, this is one of those times where simplicity works really well. At the top we find the traditional panel that this time includes four high-speed USB 3.0 ports along with the respective 3.5 mm jack connectors for audio and microphone. Of course we also find the buttons to turn on the equipment and reset.

To remove the window, we recommend that you lay down the box and unscrew the 4 main screws of each darkened tempered glass. The quality of the finishes is tremendous.

Already in the rear area we find an upper air outlet, a rear fan, the hole for the plate of the motherboard, the expansion slots, rubber tube protectors for liquid cooling and the hole for the power supply.

Finally highlight the rear area with its two lower filters and the 4 rubber feet for excellent cooling.

Interior and entering in more detail

As for the general cooling of the equipment, we will not have any problems either, the Raijintel Asterion allows us to accommodate a total of two 240/280 / 360mm radiators, one of them at the front and the other at the top. Fans of custom liquid cooling will be very happy as they will be able to install a very high performance custom circuit.

If you prefer more traditional air cooling they will not have problems either, the Asterion includes two 120mm front fans as standard, these can be replaced by two 140mm fans or you can also add a third 120mm fan. On the back it includes a 120mm fan that we can replace with a 140mm fan if we wish to improve the extraction of hot air from inside the equipment. Finally at the top we can accommodate two 140mm fans or three 120mm units. It is also very important to highlight the great versatility in the cable glands and its ability to adapt to any cooling solution.

Regarding storage, we find three internal bays for 2.5-inch hard drives and three bays that will serve us both for 2.5-inch drives and for 3.5-inch drives. With the Asterion we will not be short of storage space and we will also be able to perfectly combine all the sales of the large capacity of the mechanical disks and the high speed of the solid state drives (SSD).

We should not worry because it allows us to install any high-end power supplies regardless of their length. In our case we have opted for a Corsair RM1000W and we have been able to store all the wiring used in the installation without noticing too much.

Between the internal cables it incorporates two USB 3.0 connections with their adapters to USB 2.0, the HD audio cable and a cable for connecting the control panel. More than enough torque for a top-of-the-range assembly.

Assembly and experience

The first thing we recommend is to order all the cables, since thanks to your guide we will have quick access to each of its components. Another recommendation is for its assembly to remove the two tempered glass side covers, to avoid any scratches or blows, and keep them in the meantime in their original box with the corks between them.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Logitech G935 Review in Spanish (Complete analysis)

Once we assembled a high-end computer, i7-6700k processor, Z170X motherboard, 16GB of RAM, 8GB GTX 1070 and a 1000W power supply. We have a montage that removes hiccups:

We start to look inside and we see that the Raijintek Asterion aims very high, this chassis is compatible with CPU heatsinks with a maximum height of 180 mm, so any model available on the market will fit, our processor will have no cooling problems powerful as it is. We can also install graphics cards with a maximum length of 34 cm, this will allow us to use the most powerful available on the market, so we can build a system with unsurpassed performance in video games.

Everything has been really easy and there is enough space to mount any large liquid cooler or heatsink. For my taste, its fans with side led strips are the best in aesthetics and are also very quiet. Personally, I have had it just 10 cm and it has not been heard… and I am a maniac of silence.

Final words and conclusion about Raijintek Asterion

The Raijintek Asterion is one of the best box options on the market with tempered glass on both sides. Its external aluminum structure and its simple internal design make us fall in love with its great versatility.

One of its many strengths is cooling, as it allows us to install triple 360mm radiators and a double 280mm radiator on the ceiling with great thickness without any problem. In addition to its compatibility with ATX, E-ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards, compatibility with graphics cards up to 37 cm long, dual tower heatsinks and high-end power supplies. In addition, the incorporation of 2.5 ″ SSDs and up to two 3.5 ″ hard drives. A luxury of box!

We recommend reading our guide to the best heatsinks, liquid cooling and fans on the market.

We hardly find any problems, because it is also quite silent and we can find the classic version in two color options: aluminum gray and black (the one analyzed). Its store price ranges from 150 euros and can be bought in German stores, but we believe that it will soon arrive in Spain for marketing. Without a doubt, a 100% recommended product.
