The Raijintek world leader in thermal components, heatsinks and boxes has sent us the Raijintek Orcus 240. It is a pre-assembled liquid cooling kit, which seeks to offer users the best features as well as a very attractive design.
This time we find a 240mm radiator, accompanied by two good 120mm fans and a combo block that includes a pump and tank with RGB LED lighting. Will you be able to pass the tests in our laboratory? Well don't miss our review!
We appreciate the trust placed in the Raijintek team.
Raijintek Orcus 240 technical characteristics
Unboxing and Design
As always, the brand bets on a fantastic presentation in a robust rectangular box with a very colorful and colorful design. On the cover we are shown the kit in great detail.
While in the back and sides all the most important features and specifications of liquid cooling are detailed, we will see everything throughout our analysis.
Once we open the box we find the following bundle:
- Raijintek Orcus 240 Instruction Manual and Quick Guide. Two 120mm Fans. Thermal Paste. Paddle for applying thermal paste. Support for both Intel and AMD installation. Various hardware.
Once we have seen the presentation, we are going to look at the Raijintek Orcus 240, it is an AIO liquid cooling system that comes fully assembled and sealed so it is ready to be installed on the user's PC. It also does not require any maintenance during the first two years, so we have a heatsink for years without worrying about it.
In the event that this date passes, it is advisable to change the liquid for the one you bring in the boat. Although if you see that your liquid cooling is heard too much (like bubbles), try to fill it so that the circuit is always full.
The first that we highlight is the block that contains the pump and the CPU block itself. This has a highly polished electrolytic copper base to achieve the best contact with the IHS of the processor, in this way the heat transfer will be maximum to achieve the best possible cooling.
This block includes a 0.1 mm microchannel design inside, thanks to which the maximum heat exchange surface between the copper of the block and the cooling fluid is achieved, an important detail to maximize performance.
As we can see the block includes a plug, this will be great for us to replace the refrigerant fluid as it evaporates, thanks to this we have a liquid cooling system for years (until the pump ends its life cycle).
The pump is placed on top of the CPU block, it has the function of circulating the fluid throughout the Raijintek Orcus 240 circuit, it is a ceramic pump that generates a noise of 25 dBa, it moves a flow of 66 liters / hour and has a service life of 10, 000 hours. We are therefore facing a pump of the best quality.
At the top of the block an RGB LED lighting system has been installed that gives it a spectacular appearance as we will see later. We emphasize that the design of the pump has been thought so that the user can appreciate the level of refrigerant fluid, so it will be easy to know if it needs to be replaced. The system includes a total of 150ml of coolant.
We now turn to look at the aluminum radiator, this has dimensions of 272 x 120 x 27 mm so it is quite powerful and will offer a great cooling capacity of our processor.
Like all radiators, its design is aimed at maximizing the heat exchange surface and thus achieving the maximum cooling capacity with the least possible space, for this it is based on a 12-channel design and very thin aluminum fins.
The radiator and CPU block of the Raijintek Orcus 240 are joined by two hoses of size 9.5 mm / 12.5mm that allows us to install it in our chassis in a quite comfortable way. These tubes are Teflon coated to minimize the evaporation of the liquid that circulates inside.
We now turn to see the fans, Raijintek has included two special units with an 11-blade impeller, these have a design that has been optimized to move a large air flow with a very low noise. These fans are accompanied by anti-vibration pads and include RGB LED lighting on the impeller and frame to look truly spectacular.
These have a size of 120 mm and PWM operation that allows the motherboard to automatically control the speed based on the temperature reached by the processor. The fans are of fairly high quality and are capable of rotating between 800 ~ 1800 RPM with a maximum noise of 23 dBA and an air flow of 42.17 CFM.
Installation and assembly
To manage the entire Raijintek Orcus, a HUB is attached with 8 RGB LED connectors for the fans, the pump and the rest of the fans or accessories with RGB lighting that we have on our PC. This HUB connects to the motherboard and is controlled by an attached controller. Finally, it is compatible with all Intel and AMD platforms with their respective supports.
The installation of the Raijintek Orcus is somewhat more tedious than that of the usual competing liquid coolers, as its retention system could be easier. The water cooler is compatible for both Intel and AMD socket. Compatible list:
- All Intel Sockets: LGA 775 / 115x / 1366 / 201x and 2066 (Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 / i9 CPU) All AMD Sockets: AM4 / AM3 + / AM3 / AM2 + / AM2 / FM2 + and FM2.
The first step is to install the four threads (metal standoffs) into the socket heatsink installation connections. Don't worry, we will fix it in a moment with a bracket and screws:
Next we will apply the thermal paste on the surface of the processor. Don't know how to apply thermal paste ? Do we recommend that you read our tutorial?
We will fix the block with the two installation screws on the bracket and connect all the wiring to the motherboard and the Raijintek HUB. We already have it installed!
To conclude with the assembly, we leave you some images of how good the radiator looks with the two Raijintek fans ! Without a doubt it is spectacular.

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with the powerful Intel i9-7900K at stock speed. As usual, our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values, since being a ten-core processor and with high frequencies, temperatures can be high.
In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.
How are we going to measure the processor temperature? For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe it is one of the best monitoring software that exists today. Without further delay, we leave you the results obtained:
Final words and conclusion about Raijintek Orcus 240
Raijintek Orcus 240 liquid cooling is positioned as one of the cheapest and highest quality options for cooling your computer. It features a 240mm radiator, a more compact design than the Raijintek Triton, and the ability to perform small maintenance quickly.
We see two aspects to improve: the use of too much wiring to have the RGB lighting system active and an ergonomic mounting compared to other manufacturers. Both cases are not alarming but can be improved.
We recommend you read the best liquid refrigerations on the market
In our test bench we have used a ten core i9-7900X at stock speed and the results have been quite good! We have obtained 23ºC at rest and 66ºC at maximum power.
Its store price ranges from 85 euros for the CORE version (without RGB) and almost 100 euros with RGB in the main online stores. Few liquid refrigerations can give us so much for so little. Great job Raijintek!
