The Razer Basilisk V2 gaming mouse, a new version of its customizable mouse, has been announced today. This version features a Razer Focus + optical sensor, Razer Speedflex cable, and other enhancements aimed at improving the mouse without losing its original characteristics.

This means that consumers can easily personalize their gaming mouse experience. The mouse features 11 programmable buttons, including the customizable scroll wheel resistance. These options should make it easier for users to adjust the performance of the Basilisk V2 with just a few clicks in the Razer Synapse companion app.

The main improvement that Razer made to the Basilisk V2 was the adoption of the Focus + optical sensor that it developed together with Pixart. It is assumed to support up to 20, 000 DPI with 99.6% resolution accuracy. The sensor also offers “smart features, ” such as smart tracking, asymmetric cut, and motion sync, to help ensure that every move is accurately represented in-game.

The Basilisk V2 features the new Razer Speedflex cable, a lightweight and twisted USB cable that is supposed to minimize drag. It also has 100% PTFE mouse feet for smoother movement. These features should help compensate for the 3.3 ounce (92g) mouse weight excluding cable and help allow for long gaming sessions without mouse weight being an issue.

Other notable aspects of the new Basilisk is that it includes the Razer optical buttons, which have a capacity of 70 million clicks, and the built-in storage to save local profiles adapted to specific games.

The Basilisk V2 is now available through the Razer Online Store and authorized dealers for approximately $ 80 (€ 90).
