Razer BlackWidow Lite is a compact keyboard designed and oriented for office work, but without giving up the quality of the American brand's gaming products. In this case we have a keyboard built in high quality aluminum and in matt black with PVC plastic keys, which have a smaller thickness than normal, and which make the mechanical switches fully visible.

It is a keyboard with TKL configuration, that is, we do not have the presence of a numeric keyboard. The measurements it registers are 361 mm long, 133 mm wide and 36 mm maximum height with the legs extended, and it has a weight of 661 grams, increased in part by the metallic finishes.

We do not have a palm rest for the Razer BlackWidow Lite and in this aspect for the price of the product it would not have hurt to create one, at least normal for users who like to use it.

In terms of measurements, Razer claims that it is the most compact keyboard it has ever made, but the truth is that it is practically the same as the rest of its keyboards with the number pad removed. What we do notice is that there are fewer outer edges and the F and side keys are closer to the alpha character pad. In any case, if you have had a Razer keyboard, you are going to adapt to it immediately, and it is a very positive thing in our opinion.

Of course the presence of the legs could not be missing to raise the keyboard to a maximum of 3.6 cm. These only allow a single height setting, but it is more than enough for most users.

In this area we do not have anything else, since the USB cable is completely removable as we will see now. We only see the presence of the corresponding large rubber feet to absorb vibrations and the sound of the keyboard as much as possible.

We come to the most important description, and it's the switch type of this Razer BlackWidow Lite. In this case, Razer has chosen its orange mechanical switch, since it is a switch that does not have the typical "click" sound when pressed, and that is why this keyboard is very quiet to be a mechanical one.

The characteristics of these switches consist of an actuation force of 45 grams, an actuation point of 1.9 mm and a total travel distance of 4.0 mm. In addition, they are prepared to withstand 80 million pulsations, of course depending on the treatment we give you, we will increase or decrease that half-life. We will have already noticed that this keyboard does not have a Spanish configuration on the market, and this is possibly a handicap for many. We are then facing an American configuration, without the visual presence of the "ñ", although we can always choose our distribution in the system so that it works exactly the same.

An interesting detail is the presence of double function keys such as the "F" row, pressing the "Fn" key and some of it will obtain the typical shortcut functions that we have on most of the brand's keyboards.

Furthermore, it is possible to configure and customize not only these functions, but also each and every key thanks to Razer's Synapse 3 software. This keyboard is compatible with consoles such as Xbox One, and has the option of game mode like other gaming keyboards of the brand, to always give that gaming touch to its products.

We have not yet talked about the lighting section of this Razer BlackWidow Lite, the manufacturer has not wanted to leave workers in the dark, and has given a brilliant touch to its keyboard with this white LED lighting that individually illuminates each key. We will not be able to choose colors or configure the lighting of each key, but we will be able to modify its intensity.

Working at night will not be an impediment, since the lighting, if it stands out in anything, is in power, being even excessive, but we can dim it from Synapse 3.

The sensations that this keyboard leaves us are extremely good, indeed the sound is very low, and the typing is very agile with light switches and keys with little travel so as not to make false presses. The absence of a palm rest does not impede comfort at all, since the keys are very close to the edge and are easily accessible.

Something that I personally do not like is the configuration and size of the Enter key, since it occupies only one space instead of two and for some it can be difficult to get used to this smaller surface and accidentally play another key.

To end the external and technical section we must mention the connection mode that this Razer BlackWidow Lite has. A USB type interface has been chosen, as it could not be otherwise to supply power to the LED lighting, but also removable. The 1.8 meter braided cable can be disconnected from both keyboard and PC to make the device more portable, a very interesting detail.

To manage this keyboard, we only need the Razer brand Synapse 3 software, which is generic for all compatible devices, even from other manufacturers.

Of course the first thing to note is that we will not have the Razer Chroma module available, since the lighting is not RGB. On the contrary, we can customize its intensity from the main lighting section.

What we can do is customize the function of each of the keys, something very interesting and that gives this team much more breadth. We can configure multimedia access, program execution, mouse functions, and also macros quickly.

In my case, I already come from the Razer Huntsman elite keyboard, and I must say that the adaptation period is immediate. Familiar keys and practically the same proportions make good handling immediate. The design and quality is very good and with all the Razer personality, aluminum finishes and the touch of gaming lighting it feels great.

The experience of working with him has been as expected, very good and with the sensations of a first-rate mechanical keyboard. The orange switches make it a quiet keyboard and even more so with the rubbers on the O-rings. Keystrokes are light, nice, and fast to write at high speed and flawlessly. In my personal case I don't like the "enter" key, but that is a matter of taste.

Powerful white lighting with intensity adjustment, and the ability to configure the functions of each key separately from Synapse 3 is a great detail. However, we think that it is a highly recommended product for professional use due to the great experience it has left us.
