Razer continues to keep both its signature green and black colors and the book- like opening on the packaging. On the front is an image of the headphones along with the model name and the company logo. At the back each of the components included in the box is named. Inside, we find a fairly thick foam padding with the exact shape to fit the headphones, so the risk of damage is zero. In total, we will find:

Razer has a wide variety of headphones within its Hammerhead range, encompassing almost all types of connectors and technologies present today. This time around, we take a look at the newest member of that family, the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC. This model is characterized by having a Type C microUSB connector, but its greatest novelty lies, as the name suggests, in the implementation of active noise cancellation technology. Another of the characteristics that distinguish these headphones from other models are the Foam COMPLY pads that are included and offer a greater adaptation to the ear.
We appreciate Razer's trust in lending us the product for analysis.

Design
Surprisingly, in these Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC, the company trades its typical green flat ribbon cable for a black braided fabric cord. This type of cable offers greater comfort when used but has less durability and tangles more easily than the flat type. At the end of the connector, as we already mentioned in the introduction, we found a type C microUSB connection.
Very useful for newer smartphones that dispense with the 3.5mm Jack connector such as the Razer Phone 2. However, compatibility is not complete with all smartphones. The call function does not work on some Samsung and Huawei models. Something similar happens with the remote control buttons. On the other hand, for OnePlus holders, it will be necessary to activate OTG Storage in advanced settings.Just before the headphone cord is split, the remote control box is placed. On the one hand, it has three buttons: two for volume and one central for taking or hanging up calls. On the side a slide button allows you to activate or deactivate noise cancellation. Along with this button, a led lets us know if the noise cancellation is already active or not. The back has the company name printed on it.
Finally, we come to the headphones, which are made of hard plastic in black, but protected at the same time by an aluminum frame that provides greater durability. The Razer logo can be seen on the outer crown of the headphones, which glows green in breathing mode when connected. These also have the peculiarity of having an angled design that reduces the possibility of them falling from the ears.
Inside each earpiece we find two small speakers, instead of one, as is usually the case, this helps to cover a greater range of frequencies.
The box includes four pads, three normal ones of different sizes to cover different ear sizes, and another special one from the COMPLY brand that are made of foam and adapt to each ear, these are undoubtedly the best. It is important, as always, to choose the appropriate size with those of the first type, instead with the COMPLY, this self-adaptation improves comfort when wearing them and prevents any sound from entering or leaving.
Although for some it can be taken for granted, it is necessary to clarify that the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC integrate a DAC in its construction to convert the analog signal to digital without requiring any other additional accessory.
Finally, the inclusion of a cover to store and transport the headphones and the different ear cushions is always appreciated. In this case the cover fulfills its function, only the brand name stands out on one side.
Sound quality
The most noticeable quality of these Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC is the clarity with which the sound is reproduced, with sometimes even each instrument in music being easily identifiable. Much of this improvement is possible thanks to the incorporation of the two small speakers mentioned above, with which a greater amplitude is achieved by emitting the different frequencies, low, medium and high. It is also appreciated, compared to other cheaper headphones, a good level of bass. They remain in an intermediate plane where they neither cancel the rest of the music nor go unnoticed. Listening to a passage with great dynamic variation, I was able to appreciate the good creditworthiness of the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC to move from one range to another.
Perhaps, one of the few drawbacks is the slight decompensation at times of the higher frequencies, although it is not something significant. On the other hand, the frequency range that these headphones support is adequate, as is their sensitivity level, which allows us to achieve a higher volume level, which is very useful at times for greater enjoyment of music.
Active noise cancellation
We could not forget such an important section of these Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC. We have had the opportunity to use the headphones in public transport and we have really been surprised by how well implemented this technology is when we activated it for the first time. The ambient sound of cars, people talking and other noises disappeared instantly and with this we could better perceive what we were hearing. However, this cancellation does not completely isolate you from other louder sounds like a car horn, or the noise a truck, subway, or bus may make, but it does mute slightly. If we also listen to music, the isolation from the outside is greater.
Conclusion and closing words of the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC
Razer continues to work on its line of headsets and that shows with the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC . At the sound level they manage to surprise with the quality they give off when reproducing any type of sound, although it is not entirely perfect either, the high frequencies still need a slight adjustment. Perfect sound is hard to come by. On the other hand, the much announced noise cancellation technology works as expected, and it may even surprise you how well implemented it is in headphones like this. It is also remarkable, the design to which the brand is accustomed to us, although it has less green than usual, except for the crowns of the headphones, where that led lighting makes them stand out from almost any other competitor.
It is true that all its advantages come from the price, we are not talking about precisely cheap headphones, but the quality is usually paid.
One of the drawbacks that can put many buyers back is the lack of full compatibility with several smartphone models that have a type C connector. Compatibility can be partial only being able to use them to listen and not to call or remotely control the music app. There is also no opportunity to connect it to other devices such as computers that are a few years old or consoles. Therefore, it is necessary to take these data into account before buying them.
In conclusion, the Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC are good headphones but at a price and with connectivity that will possibly satisfy a certain group of people. You can get them from the Razer website for a RRP of € 99.99.
