Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 technical features

Unboxing and design

The Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 headset has arrived in a luxurious presentation, the device comes in a cardboard box with the company's corporate colors. The box shows us a great image of the product, as well as its most important specifications, including the two drivers on each side, for a total of four. Inside we find the peripheral perfectly accommodated and protected by several pieces of foam to prevent it from suffering any type of damage during transport.

Next to the headset we find the documentation and a splitter cable to divide the speakers and the microphone into two independent 3.5 mm connectors.

We already focus on the Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2, this device has a design very similar to the Razer Electra that we analyzed a few days ago, the headband is based on the same concept of double bridge that gives such good results, it is a design that we like a lot and we find it the most comfortable. The advantage of this design is that the headset is suspended above the head, which supports less pressure than with a more conventional headband. This design makes the headset feel very light and very comfortable.

Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 has a fairly high weight with a figure of 322 grams, thanks to its comfortable headband it will not be a problem when we have them on our heads for several hours. The headset is manufactured combining very good quality metal and black plastic, the overall design is quite sober, it is far from the gaming fads we see today.

Razer has installed a height adjustment system in the headband, it adapts to our head automatically when putting the headset on, so we do not have to do anything to take advantage of it.

The domes allow a certain twist, something that will help achieve greater comfort of use. The pads that Razer has put are very large and abundant, they are finished in synthetic leather so the insulation from outside noise will be quite good. Inside each dome is hidden a pair of neodymium drivers with a size of 50 mm and coated with titanium to improve the sound quality. These drivers offer a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz, an impedance of 32/16 Ω and with a maximum power of 50 mW.

A small switch has been placed in the left dome to activate and deactivate the secondary drivers, this will allow us to choose between a flatter sound or one that enhances the bass more. The microphone has also been placed in the left dome, it has a folding design. It is a unidirectional micro with a response frequency of 100 - 10 kHz, a sensitivity at 1 kHz of -38 dB ± 3 dB and a signal / noise ratio of> 58 dB. This micro has some flexibility, which will help us better adjust it to our mouth.

Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 works with a meshed cable with a length of 1.3 meters, this cable ends in a 3.5 mm TRRS jack connector that makes them compatible with many devices. The cable has included a small control knob with a potentiometer for volume and a switch for the microphone.

To increase compatibility we can use the attached splitter, this has a length of 2 meters and allows you to separate the speakers and the microphone into two independent 3.5 mm connectors.

Final words and conclusion about Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2

After having used the Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 several tens of hours it is time to make a valuation of the product. First, we will talk about the sound quality. The inclusion of two drivers per dome is quite noticeable in the basses, of course, for this we will have to have both drivers activated from the switch. With both drivers activated the volume is quite high and the sound profile boosts the bass over the mids and highs. If we deactivate the secondary drivers, we obtain a flatter sound and with less volume. This second situation will be better for listening to music, for example.

Now we will talk about comfort, really in this aspect there is nothing that surprises, its headband makes them very comfortable despite having a high weight, something that we already expected seeing its design so there is no surprise in this.

Finally, the micro offers a fairly good quality, it will allow us to communicate with our comrades starting without problems. The microphone picks up the voice with enough volume and without ambient noise, although somewhat sharper than it really is.

Razer Tiamat 2.2 v2 is for sale for approximately 140 euros.
