To evaluate the performance of the graphics card we have used the following applications:

  • 3DMark11.3DMark Vantage.The Planet 2.Resident Evil 5.Heaven benchmark 2.1

All our tests have been carried out with a resolution of 1920px x 1200px.

What are we looking for in the tests?

First the best possible image quality. The most important value for us is the average FPS (Frames per second), the higher the number of FPS, the more fluid the game will be. To differentiate the quality a little, I leave you a table to assess the quality in FPS:

FRAMES BY SECONDS

Frames for Seconds. (FPS)

Gameplay

Less than 30 FPS Limited
30 - 40 FPS Playable
40 - 60 FPS Good
Greater than 60 FPS Fairly Good or Excellent

Let's not fool ourselves; there are games that can have an average of 100 FPS. It may be because the game is quite old, does not require excessive graphic resources or that the graphics is the most powerful on the market, or we have thousands of euros GPU systems. But the reality is different, and games like Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 are very demanding and do not usually give high scores.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Asus has the exclusive in the panels to 144 Hz and 3 ms of AU Optronics

We have reached the GPU BOOST up to 1200mhz without messing up and getting a very good score with 3dMARK11 of 90, 000 points. Regarding refrigeration, we have had the graph at 35ºC in idle and 75ºC at full capacity.

Consumption is the biggest surprise and its excellent TDP. In Idle 85w with default values and 261w to FULL (MEASURED ALL EQUIPMENT). What a pleasant surprise!

ASUS has designed the best graphics of the moment. Among its most important features are the 1137 mhz overclock, 1344 cudas Core, digital outputs, improved phases, Asus Direct CU II heatsink and 2 GB of RAM making it a true 'Killer'.

As we have commented during the analysis, its performance is excellent, surpassing even a reference GTX680 and doubling the power of a GTX580. In 3DMARK11 we have obtained P8735 points and playing Lost Planet 102 fps on average. All this with an i7 2600k at 4.6ghz and a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pts.

We have also positively valued its consumption / temperatures.

  • Rest / full performance temperature: 35ºC / 75 ºC. (Stressed with Furmark). Consumption rest / full performance: 85W / 261w.
These temperatures are obtained thanks to its Direct CU II heatsink. That in this new revision of graphics cards has had many improvements in its construction. In addition, we consider it as one of the quietest on the market with the Arctic Cooling Extreme Plus Accelero.

Many of you will wonder what is its price? Its price in the market oscillates like its competitors € 390-400, but differentiating it from the rest for its Overclock and refrigeration. Of course, a recommended purchase for the most enthusiastic gamer.
