When we open the bundle of the boxes we find the tablet itself protected with a quite resistant plastic, it is not the typical screen protector, but it covers everything, both in front and behind. It also comes with a usb / mini usb cable (for data transfer, etc.) and a charger. In pad 10 comes an American type plug but with a power adapter compatible with ours.

They take approximately half a minute to turn on, a little longer than any Smartphone today.

The first time you turn it on it will ask you to select your language, a Wi-Fi network, if you want to synchronize your accounts, contacts, the date and time et voilá, you can start enjoying.

It will appear locked and as you drag the padlock to one side or the other, different things will happen. If we move the padlock to the right it will unlock; On the left the camera application will open and upwards you will enter the google search engine.

They consist of 5 desks that you can customize to your liking. At the bottom are the applications that Asus by default thinks users use most often.

Now I will break down the different buttons that you will see on the central desktop:

- Google button: takes you directly to your page.

- Micro button: recognize your voice and google what you have said.

- Menu button: all the programs and widgets will appear on the screen that, by simply pressing them, you can insert them into the desktop of your choice.

- Back button: takes you to the previous page you were working on.

- Home button: what you are doing is minimized and you will see the desktop you were on.

- Recent apps button: everything you have open at that moment will appear in the lower left of your screen and you can close it just by dragging it to the right to avoid consuming as much battery.

- Widgets button: (Only in the memo pad) pressing this button will open 3 additional desktops where you can choose some of the applications on the tablet that open as a widget on the desktop, we would say that they are as shortcuts for a faster use of the application.

Just like today's mobiles, if you slide your finger down on the memo pad or press on the watch below the memo pad 10, a screen will open where you can remove or put wi-fi, sound, automatic rotation, etc, as well as any news you have, for example, an email or a notification on fb.

These tablets have many interesting applications, among them are:

- Camera and camcorder: with them you can take all the photos and videos that you can think of with an acceptable quality and then edit them as you wish.

- ASUS Studio: it is a very simple and intuitive image editor where you can frame your photos, change them to black and white or sepia, write by hand or in speech bubbles, crop them, remove red eyes, etc.

- SuperNote / Super Note Lite: it is a notepad where you can write down everything you can think of, be it a typewritten poem or a handwritten shopping list.

- My Painter: (Only in memo pad) this program offers you various templates where you can insert the photos you want and create birthday greetings or simply draw a drawing with a non-white background.

- Tegra Zone: (Only in memo pad 10) For the idle ones there is this search engine with which you can find the best games that have Nvidia Tegra. You will be able to see reviews made by specialists, high resolution screenshots, trailers and videos of the different plays and other content.

And if you want to have a special one, you just need to connect and download it from the Play Store!

Regarding the Memo Pad 10 Smart, there is a 32 GB version, but its availability is not confirmed yet in Spain.

In our opinion, either of the two tablets would delight fans of these devices, but we believe that each one of us thinks that it is intended for an audience with different tasks or a user who does everything.

The 7 ”Memo pad we would advise those who want to be aware of everything at any time, while you are on the bus or just walking down the street, since its size and weight allow you to take it everywhere.

The Memo Pad 10 Smart we see it for a more domestic use, to be reading, playing or just browsing either on the sofa, the bed but if you have a medium-sized bag (and a compatible cover to avoid damaging it), you will want to take it there wherever you go.

The highlight of these tablets is their autonomy, (7 hours on the memo pad and 8 and a half on the memo pad 10) since you can spend hours glued to them without having to constantly plug them into the light. Also, it allows us the possibility of increasing the storage capacity with the microSD slot.

Regarding the price, you can buy the memo pad from € 155 and memo pad 10 from € 305. The difference is not only in the dimensions and weight, we must not forget that the Memo Pad 10 Smart has the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 and that makes its graphics have an unsurpassed quality but, apart from that, the quality / Price is very good on any of the tablets that you finally opt for.
