SPECIAL FEATURES & DHX DISSIPATION

The Dominator Platinum are presented in a foam cardboard box and protected by a blister. Its design is striking and its compatibility with XMP profiles is screen printed.

The back we have all the characteristics of the memories.

The pack opens easily to quickly view the number of modules, speeds, and latencies.

They are a total of 4 memories of 4GB DDR3 each. That make a total of 16GB.

The memories have a great design and its PCB is Black. As expected they are the highest range of memory and are hand-picked. View of both sides of the memory:

The modules operate at 2133mhz with 9-11-10-30 2T latency and a voltage of 1.5v. Is this low voltage an amazing and very interesting thing for overclockers?

We strongly recommend that if your board supports XMP profiles, activate your memories from there. One second and perfectly configured.

This new Platinum version of the classic Dominator comes equipped with an innovative DHX heatsink. That already stands out for us with the metallic extension and its white LEDs (it combines perfectly with any box) and that soon it will launch new bars with LEDs with different colors. It also offers EXTRA performance in its dissipation and performance.

The possibility of using Corsair Link is also integrated. What is Corsair Link technology?

Corsair Link offers exciting new possibilities for system monitoring and control. You can link multiple selected Corsair products to perform monitoring tasks with an amazing level of control. All options are displayed on the screen through an advanced, intuitive and easy to use software interface.

The memories are compatible with the Chipset Z77, X79 (Quad Channel), Z68 and P67. Do not forget that we are analyzing one of its most powerful versions 2133mhz, there are cheaper models that can go up just as well with a possible overclocking. In the following image we can see him mounted with a Corsair H60 and an Asus Maximus V Extreme. Although we have analyzed the plate with one of my favorites; the Asrock Formula OC?

The programs that we will use to check the performance of the Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 2133 mhz have used the following tests:

  • Super PI.x264 HD Encoding Benchmark v5.0.1 64-Bit.3DMark 11.Metro 2033.AIDA64 Extreme Edition 2.60.

At the beginning of the summer we announced the launch of the new line of DDR3 Corsair Dominator Platinum memories. The most advanced memories in technology, cooling (DHX heatsink), performance, Black PCB and low voltage voltage. Currently we find it available in kits of 2 or 4 modules in different speeds. In our test bench we have tested the 4 × 4 16GB pack at 2133mhz with a high-end equipment: Intel i5 3570 processor at 4600 mhz, Asrock OC Formula motherboard and a 2GB NVIDIA GTX680 graphics card. The performance has been fantastic both in synthetic tests like 3DMARK11 with 9282 Points and in games like Metro 2033 with 72.84 FPS. All this with the XMP profile activated at 2133 mhz 9-11-10-30 and 1.5v. Another of its strong points is its DHX dissipation of aluminum fins. That as we have seen in the features comes equipped with several heatsinks, which will allow us to achieve great overclocks and aesthetics (white LEDs, interchangeable soon). Although a lot of EYE, because it can be incompatible with some heatsinks. With our test system we have performed a stable overclocking of 2400mhz 9-11-11-31 at 1.65v. Great performance and ease! Memory modules also feature Corsair Link connections. This technology allows monitoring of temperature and its different values. This system is a great advance for lovers of overclocking. The price of memory varies greatly depending on its characteristics. For example. We can find the 8GB (2x4GB) kit at 1600mhz over € 80, while the analyzed 16GB (4x4GB) kit at 2133 mhz ranges from € 250. Its lifetime guarantee gives us unsurpassed security and reliability. Although it must be remembered that by European consumer law there is a maximum of 10 years of warranty.
