The presentation of the Corsair H55 Liquid Cooling Kit is very minimalist, the colors green-black and white predominate. In it we can see the most important characteristics and an image of liquid cooling.

We see that the packaging is first class and that we find in it a notice that we can process with Corsair the guarantee for any failure.

General view of the kit.

The first improvement over the Corsair H55 is found in the pump: less noise, less height and a more attractive aesthetic.

We see the two tubes with slight evaporation and the 3-pin cable to run the pump (it is mandatory for operation).

The kit includes a single 120mm radiator with a thickness of 30mm. Its tubes are low evaporation, that means we do not need any maintenance on the kit. So much so, that we have a 5 year warranty?

A proof of the excellent flexibility of the kit.

Kit includes a 2000 RPM 120mm fan and excellent airflow.

Finally, all the anchors for the different platforms on the market.

Power supply

Thermaltake TouchPower 1350W

To test the actual performance of the heatsink, we stressed the Intel i7 3930k processor (Socket 2011) with prime numbers (Prime95 custom) and its two high-speed Thermaltake fans. Prime95, is a well-known software in the overclocking sector and allows us to detect faults when the processor works 100% for long hours. It is the same case as LINX which stresses the CPU and memory at the same time.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature?

We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For this test on Intel processors we will use the “Core Temp” application in its version: 1.0 RC3 It is not the most reliable test, but it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The test bench will be around 29ºC ambient temperature.

Let's see the results obtained:

The Corsair Hydro Series H55 is a liquid cooling kit capable of cooling any CPU on the market with advanced overclocking efficiently and freshly. Its design reminds us of the old Corsair H50 but more compact.

This kit comes with a simple 120mm radiator, this size allows us to install the radiator in any fan slot in our box. Among the advantages that we find: it does not need maintenance, we gain in aesthetics, the possibility of installing high-end memories and its compatibility with any socket.

WE RECOMMEND YOU CORSAIR launches Dominator Platinum CONTRAST DDR4 memories

We have tested the kit with a high-end equipment: Intel 3930K C2 at 4600 mhz and 1.35v, Asus Rampage IV Extreme, GTX 680. The equipment reaching a maximum season of 73ºC in full and 32ºC in idle. If we install a second fan, we will gain between 2-3 ºc less.

In short, if we are looking for a good, beautiful and cheap liquid cooling kit. The Corsair H55 has to enter the list of candidates.
