Review: g.skill ripjaws 1600 cl8 (2x4gb)

Anonim

Intel warned that "Intel Sandy Bridge" processors need ram memory to work at 1.5v. G.Skill did not want to lose the train of this socket and released a series of specific memories for Sandy Bridge.

The kit that we are going to present to you is the G.Skill Ripjaws CL8. It consists of two modules of 4GB each with latencies of 8-8-8-24 at 1600mhz.

The programs that we will use to check the performance are:

  • Super Pi Mod v1.5.Winrar 4.0.Aida 64.Wprime 2.05.

We have carried out a study with the G.Skill Ripjaws X (8GB CL9) and G.Skill Sniper CL9 modules. In this way we will see the extra performance that 1600mhz memories with CL8 latencies offer us. Let's see the results obtained in our tests:

We think that for users of socket 1555, this kit will more than meet their expectations. For practical purposes we could say that raising the RAM memory more than 1600 mhz gives a marginal gain in most applications. As we have seen in our tests, where we see the most differences are in synthetic tests.

We will also remind overclockers that in this socket the importance of the bus has decreased and that Overclock is practically only done through a multiplier, so memory is no longer as decisive as it could be in other sockets. We have confirmed that they are fully compatible with the AM3 socket and accept an acceptable overclock (it goes up to 1866 mhz) by touching the voltage a little.

In short, we consider that this memory kit is highly recommended to any high / mid / high range user and with a price of just € 59 !!. We leave you our usual table of advantages and disadvantages:
