MSI GTX 980 Twin Frozr V OC: Posing in front of the camera

The graphics card is presented in a black cardboard box with its famous gaming series dragon, the name of the graphics, which is an OC version, PCI Express 3.0 and contains 4GB of Ram.

The MSI GTX980 Twin Frozr V has a really attractive and sporty design. Its design is of an ATX PCB, Maxwell GM204 chipset, Military Class components and an excellent cooling system.

The graph has three modes of speeds for the core frequency:

Also among its features we find 4GB of GDDR5 RAM, a 256-bit interface, a memory speed of 7010 Mhz, RAMDAC speed of 400 MHz, support for 4 Way SLI and a consumption of 178W. Its dimensions are 279 mm long, 115 wide and 36 mm deep and it has a weight of approximately 700 grams.

What are we looking for in the tests?

First the best possible image quality. The most important value for us is the average FPS (Frames per second), the higher the number of FPS, the more fluid the game will be. To slightly differentiate the quality, we leave you a table to assess the quality in FPS:

Let's not fool ourselves; there are games that can have an average of 100 FPS. It may be because the game is quite old and does not require excessive graphic resources or that the graphics is the most powerful on the market, or we have GPU systems for thousands of euros. But the reality is different, and games like Crysis 3 and Metro 2033 are very demanding and do not usually give high scores.

The GTX980 MSI Twin Frozr V OC is a high-end graphics card with Maxwell chipset, 4GB of RAM, PCI Express 3.0, military components, a large overclocking capacity and a very attractive design. In our tests we have seen that the Twin Frozr V heatsink is really efficient since it keeps the graphics at 35ºC at rest and at full performance at 66ºC. Its 0DB system is also to be commended, which will delight fellow lovers of silence.The feeling when playing is undeniable, with a FULL HD, 2K and 4K monitor is incredible. Move with ease the first two, while the 4K is capable of maintaining 33 FPS on average.In short, if you are looking for the most of the MSI GTX980 is the graphics to take into account for its cooling system and overclocking capacity. Its price in store is € 599.
