Raijintek Metis

As usual in the packaging of the boxes by Raijintek it is the most basic and sure that we can find: a cardboard box without any color image. Both on the cover and on the sides we have information on the model, color and whether it has a window. In our specific case it is the Raijintek Metis ITX in black (although we can choose red, blue, silver, green and gold) and methacrylate window. As we see it in the following image it looks great before our eyes.

The Raijintek Metis is an ultra-compact box since its size is 19 x 27.7 x 25.4 cm and a light weight of 2.8KG. It is built internally with 0.5mm thick SPCC steel and we fall in love with it so much externally because they have used premium brushed aluminum. On the front we have the power button that being a multi-switch allows us to reset the equipment with a light touch.

The left side is completely smooth except for a small grille that allows air to circulate quickly and efficiently. While the right side has a window large enough for all components except the power supply. Already in the back we see two PCI slots, the hole for the input and output connections of the motherboard and the output of a 120 mm fan.

Logo detail at the bottom of the front.

Now we stand in the lower area of the tower, we have 4 rubber feet that will provide us with stability and we will avoid all kinds of vibrations. We see the hole in the power supply and some rubber stops that we understand will be for mounting hard drives on your inside. To remove the cover we need to unscrew four Lian-Li style screws.

Next to the box we find the necessary hardware to assemble the system and an instruction manual.

Once the box is open we see that we have a lot of space to work, we do not find hard disk booths at first glance and only the essentials.

As a ventilation system we have a 120 mm Raijintek fan that works at low revolutions as it is PWM. We have neither front nor top due to space issues but for an ITX team it is more than enough.

In the first image we see the area to install the 2.5 ″ hard drives on the floor of the box while in the upper area we can install a 3.5 ″ hard drive in a hidden cabin. Once we open the left side we have nothing else to highlight, except that the cable management is quite limited which forces us to install a modular power supply and the fewest cables possible.

When installing an ATX format power supply we are limited in space and the brand has used an L-shaped thief. As interior cables, highlight the USB 3.0 connection with an extension for USB 2.0.

Already inside we leave you some example images.

In the first image you can see the installation of an ITX motherboard that without a power supply would allow us to install any graphics. But as it was, it must go inside due to its position, it limits us to 17 cm. Can we assemble a gamer graph? the answer is yes, there are them of this size like the GTX 760 or the GTX 970 Slim. Although my recommendation is to mount an i3 + GTX 750 Ti system or a top-of-the-range APU A10. Regarding the heatsinks we can assemble a 16 cm one… and as I mentioned before, the wiring will cost us a little to leave it well ordered for a good installation.

Final words and conclusion

Every day I like Raijintek's philosophy: quality components at a price available to any user. On this occasion, we have had in the hands of the Raijintek Metis an ITX box in a very small format with quality materials: aluminum and 0.5 mm steel.

The box allows us optimal cooling for any gamer or professional use. This allows us to install ATX power supplies, heatsinks 16 cm high and graphics cards 17 cm. The only downside I find is that the organization of the wiring we must be patient and very meticulous.

Its price in store is € 49.95, a price that from my point of view is the best on the market. I loved it so much in terms of design, functionality and possibilities in such a small place. My congratulations to the Raijintek team.
