We know that AMD's RX VEGA 64 graphics card falls far short of the performance offered by a Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, which is why the results it offers in the next Forza 7, the Microsoft racing video game that will be released this year, are curious. Tuesday.

RX VEGA 64 is 23% faster than GTX 1080 Ti in Forza 7

As you can see from the performance results seen below these lines, the RX VEGA 64 graphics card leads the performance pack among the various AMD and Nvidia options when running under DirectX 12.

The tests were carried out with Intel Core i7 6850K equipment running at 4.3GHz and 16GB of DDR4 memory running at 3000MHz in four-channel mode. The drivers used were Crimson ReLive 17.93 for AMD and 385.69 for NVIDIA. These drivers are officially optimized for Forza 7, so there would be no excuses on this side.

All graphics options were adjusted to their maximum settings and 8X MSAA anti-aliasing was used at all three tested resolutions (1080p - 1440p - 4k).

1080p

Under 1080p performance is being led by AMD's two cards, the RX VEGA 64 and 56 tandem, achieving 136.9 fps and 122.7 fps respectively. Just in third place we see the GTX 1080 Ti getting 111.2 fps. The difference between VEGA 64 and GTX 1080 Ti is 23%.

1440p

Under a resolution of 1440p we see that the results vary a little more, the RX VEGA 64 continues to achieve the first place (115 fps) but the GTX 1080 Ti manages to sneak into the second position with 102.8 fps.

4K

Interestingly, when the resolution is increased to 4k, the winner is the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti with about 90.8 fps, the RX Vega 64 reaches 83.7 fps here and is followed in third position by the GTX 1080 (at dry) with 75.4 fps.

It must be emphasized that Forza 7 is one of the games that will take the most advantage of the new DirectX 12 API, that's probably why AMD is taking an interesting advantage in this game. Anyway, we cannot rule out that Nvidia will later launch new drivers that improve the performance of its Pascal graphics with Forza 7, which opens on October 3.
