Ryzen 3000 would support ddr4 memories
Table of contents:
The upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors, codenamed Matisse, will arrive with support for DDR4-3200 memory modules from launch.
Ryzen 3000 would support DDR4-3200 memories
This new information comes from the Videocardz site, which obtained the information from a motherboard manufacturer, and was later confirmed by another Twitter source @momomo_us .
Every time a chip maker announces a new processor, it's easy to look at core counts or running clocks, but memory support is an aspect that's often overlooked. Memory support on Ryzen desktop processors has gone through a gradual and evolutionary process, improving with each generation.
The first generation Ryzen officially supported DDR4-2666 memory modules, while the second generation came with support for the faster DDR4-2933 memory standard. The latest VideoCardz information appears to point to AMD raising the bar towards DDR4-3200 on Ryzen's upcoming 3000 series chips.

AMD already has a pair of processors that support DDR4-3200, such as the Ryzen Embedded V1756B and V1807B , but not yet on desktop processors. That is why the information does not seem implausible at all.
The great advantage of AMD is that it has made huge improvements to the IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) within Matisse processors. The chips supposedly possess the potential to support memory speeds of up to 4, 400 MHz or more. However, this is expected to be chip-to-chip, as not all processors are created equal, and the BMI will surely vary from sample to sample.
The leaked specifications also suggest that Matisse chips can only accommodate up to 64GB of DDR4 memory in a dual-channel configuration. Now that the 32GB DDR4 modules are here, we may see that that limit has been extended to 128GB through a simple BIOS update.
All this and more will be revealed at Computex 2019, so stay tuned.
