Samsung adds FreeSync functionality to its TVs of this year 2018 through new firmware
Thanks to AMD FreeSync technology, compatible Samsung TVs will offer their users the opportunity to enjoy a better gaming experience with AMD Radeon graphics cards and Xbox One consoles. FreeSync is in charge of synchronizing the refresh rate of the television with the number of images per second sent by the graphics card or the console, thus avoiding annoying tearing and improving fluidity.

Models receiving the new 1103 firmware update that enables functionality are the Samsung 4K UHD Q6FN, Q7FN, Q8FN, Q9FN, and NU8000. Unfortunately, this feature doesn't work at 4K 120Hz resolutions, so users will have to settle for 1080p, surely with the goal of offering a wider FreeSync range and perhaps support for low-speed offset technology. frames (LFC).
This new firmware update has also reduced the imput lag of 2018 Samsung TVs to 15ms, with a further drop to 7ms when used in VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mode. This VRR standard will allow 4K TVs to achieve higher resolutions and refresh rates, while integrating it into the HDMI 2.1 port to force market adoption.
If you have any of the compatible televisions you can leave a comment with your experience.
