Samsung seems to have made a mess of what type of screen to use in the future, first were the OLED panels, then the QLEDs and now the MicroLEDs arrive. The Korean firm has gone through CES 2018 to show an impressive 146-inch TV that promises to make OLED and QLED screens obsolete.

Samsung impresses with a 146-inch MicroLED panel

So big is the new television shown by Samsung that they have called it " The Wall " which makes it clear that it will be as big as a wall and even more than many of them. This 146-inch television is based on new MicroLED technology that promises to leave both OLED and QLED in its infancy. MicroLED is much more modular by allowing the development of huge panels and with high resolutions without the limitations of the other two technologies.

Another point where MicroLED technology is clearly superior is in image quality, allowing levels of brightness, color representation and contrast to be achieved that are much higher than what is available today. The OLED panels have inherited a lighting system integrated into the pixels themselves, which avoids the need for a rear light source so that pure black can be achieved, thus becoming the only OLED rival in this aspect.

The energy efficiency of OLED panels is also maintained, and most important of all, the burning problems of this technology are solved in long-term static images. That is why, at least for now, all are advantages so we are clearly talking about the technology of the future.
