The new Samsung NF1 is built with 16 Samsung NAND packages of 512 gigabytes (GB) each, these packages are stacked on 16 layers of 256 gigabit V-NAND TLC chips, achieving a density of 8TB in an ultra small footprint 11 cm x 3.05 cm, which is double the capacity offered by M.2 NVMe SSDs commonly used in server designs. Samsung NF1 will help bypass 2.5-inch SSDs, allowing 576TB of storage space on the latest 2U rack servers.
Samsung NF1 is based on an NVMe 1.3 controller and PCIe 4.0 interface, offering sequential read speeds of 3, 100 MB / s and write speeds of 2, 000 MB / s. Random speeds reach 500, 000 IOPS for read operations and 50, 000 IOPS for writes. An enterprise server system can perform over a million IOPS in a 2U rack space, significantly improving the return on investment for next-generation large-scale data centers.
This device is designed with a guarantee of writing 8TB of data 1.3 times a day during its three-year warranty period.
