Seagate releases the first 8tb hard drives

Anonim

Seagate Technology plc, the world leader in storage solutions, has announced today that the first hard drive with a total storage capacity of no more and no less than 8TB or what amounts to the same, a total of 8000GB. Space problems now?

One of the main innovations in this type of disk, apart from its enormous storage capacity, is that it offers horizontally scaled data infrastructures with a truly amazing capacity. In addition, energy efficiency has also been improved in a more than remarkable way.

The company's same vice president of marketing, Scott Hom has quoted the following verbatim :

“As our world becomes more mobile, the number of devices we use to create and consume data is driving an explosive growth in unstructured data. This puts increased pressure on cloud builders to find innovative ways to build cost-effective, high-capacity storage for both private and cloud-based data centers.

Seagate, now yes, is more than ready to face the new digital age full of enormous amounts of information and data where security and large capacities are two key factors.

If we talk about price, it must be said that at the moment there are no official details related to this although if we look a little at the current market we could get a slight idea…

Good news for consumers is that due to this new release of the 8TB hard drive, it is certain that the drives with less storage will lower, even slightly, their prices.

As always, we are open to listening to your own opinions, for all of us, to improve the information. What do you think of this new 8TB Seagate?
