Japanese manufacturer Scythe presents the fifth generation of its popular and complete Katana CPU cooler. This new version (Katana 5) comes with a revamped asymmetric heatsink design and a total height of only 135mm, offering unrestricted compatibility with any motherboard and memory modules.

Scythe Katana 5 is priced at 23.50 euros

The second generation of the Easy Clip Mounting System (ECMS) ensures a quick and easy installation process. Another key innovation of Katana 5 is the newly developed Kaze Flex 92 PWM fan. It combines high quality sealed dynamic bearing with anti-vibration rubber spacers for quiet operation and long life.

The Katana series, since its initial launch, has sought great versatility. Scythe further underlines this with the launch of the Katana 5, which offers optimal performance in compact dimensions and an advanced multi-socket mounting system at a competitive price.

The fifth generation offers three high quality copper heatpipes as well as a nickel plated copper plate. This update protects copper from corrosion and makes Katana 5 look more unified.

The new series fan is equipped with Scythe's high-quality sealed precision dynamic bearing (Sealed Precision FDB), which offers quieter operation and a long service life of 120, 000 hours. This fan operates at speeds of 300-2, 300 RPM, while operating at surprisingly low noise levels of 7.3-28.83 dBA.

Package includes Katana 5 with mounting clips as well as thermal grease and a 92mm Kaze Flex PWM fan with fan mounting clips.

The SCKTN-5000 model is available from today with a retail price of 23.50 euros (VAT / taxes not included).
