Samsung sales expected to drop in 2017

Samsung is currently the leader in the telephony market. The Korean multinational represents approximately a fifth of the smartphones sold worldwide. In addition, they have been in first position for years. But little by little they begin to lose a little ground. In fact, they are expected to close the year with a decline in sales.

Not that things go wrong with Samsung, but the advancement of Chinese brands is hurting the company a lot. Brands like Xiaomi, OPPO or Huawei are making notable progress globally. So many users bet on some of their models.

Chinese brands compete with Samsung

So Samsung's global market share is expected to go from 20.5% to 19.2% later this year. Predictions say that the Korean multinational will close this year with sales of 315 million devices. A good number, although without a doubt for the company it does not fulfill its objectives. And Chinese brands are the reason why it was down.

The mentioned brands have become a hugely successful option in Asia. Not only in China. While worldwide they are progressing little by little. So Samsung is facing large and powerful competitors. Especially since they compete with lower prices.

Despite this drop in sales, Samsung remains in the top position of worldwide sales. At the moment it seems impossible to move the company from this position. Although little by little the competitors are getting closer. So in the not too distant future it is possible that the fight for the first position will be very tight.
