A report came out over the weekend giving an idea of what to expect from the upcoming iPad Pro, which will include support for Face ID, a USB-C port, and a stylus update in the form of Apple Pencil 2.

An image of the Apple Pencil 2 is leaked showing some of its alleged new features

Now an image has appeared courtesy of Ben Geskin of the Apple Pencil 2, hinting at a redesign and some other changes to the accessory expected to come with the new iPad Pro. According to the leak, the second-rate Apple Pencil Generation is supposed to introduce support for touch and swipe gestures and a new charging method, although there are no further details on what it actually involves.

Meanwhile, another participant in the conversation unearthed the Patently Apple coverage earlier this year, showing how an Apple Pencil could be recharged while magnetically connected via a smart connector. It is also believed that the accessory will pair with devices by proximity instead of being connected to the charging port, as previously suggested in the code found in the beta versions of iOS 12.1. In terms of design, the digital pen is said to have a more minimalist look, and it's rumored to be ditching the silver rail on top. More details are expected to follow at Apple's next event on October 30.
