The Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 is an interesting high-performance mouse for gamers that seeks to make an important niche in the market by offering very complete features at a very competitive price. A mouse with the highest quality OMRON switches, a PixArt PMW3336 10, 800 DPI sensor, an ergonomic body to hold it in your hand for long sessions without fatigue, an RGB LED lighting system and a weight adjustment system so you can adapt it to the maximum to your tastes and preferences. Do not miss our analysis in Spanish.

First of all we thank Sharkoon for giving us SGM1 for analysis.

Sharkoon Skiller SGM1: technical characteristics

Sharkoon Skiller SGM1: unboxing and analysis

The Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 comes to us with a very attractive cardboard box in which black and blue predominate in a combination that looks quite good. On the front of the box we find an image of the mouse next to the brand logo and its main characteristics, its 12 programmable buttons, its high precision sensor of 10, 800 DPI and an RGB LED lighting system stand out. We are also informed of its four-way wheel, a weight adjustment system, the management software and its internal memory. On the back and sides we appreciate more images and the rest of the characteristics of the Sharkoon Skiller SGM1.

We open the box and find a plastic blister that contains the mouse properly protected, a black cloth bag to store the mouse when we are not using it and a spare Teflon surf set.

We turn to look at the mouse itself, as in its younger brothers we find braided cable with a finish that combines black and blue that gives it a quite attractive appearance while protecting it against wear and tear. The mouse is made with a black plastic body that offers a fairly traditional appearance, its design is very ergonomic so that we can hold it in the hand during long sessions without fatigue.

The Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 has dimensions of 122 x 82 x 42 mm along with a base weight of 130 grams, the manufacturer has integrated a comfortable weight regulation system consisting of six small 4-gram weights that we can put on or take off to adapt the mouse to the maximum to our preferences. With the six weights on, it reaches 154 grams. A lower weight will make it more agile while a higher weight will give us better precision when it comes to sliding it on the surface of our mat.

The left side hides a total of five programmable buttons that will allow us to execute a good number of actions in a very comfortable way from the mouse itself. Its touch is pleasant and they are quite hard, which gives us a good quality feeling and that they will not break in a short time, next to them we see four LEDs that act as indicators of the selected DPI mode. The wheel has a large size and a rubber finish to improve grip on the finger, offering excellent performance with very precise movements both on short and long distances. We highlight that the wheel of the Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 has four directions so we can scroll vertically and horizontally.

Accompanying the wheel we find two buttons that will allow us to adjust the DPI level of the sensor on the fly, the Sharkook Skiller SGM1 has a total of seven DPI modes at preset values of 10, 800 / 8, 200 / 5, 200 / 3, 600 / 2, 400 / 1, 600 / 800 DPI to suit the preferences of a large number of users. A high DPI value allows us to make a great tour with a very small movement of the mouse so it will be especially suitable for multi-monitor configurations. In contrast, low DPI values will be ideal in games where high precision of movement is required.

At the top we find the two main buttons that have OMRON Japanese mechanisms of enormous quality and that ensure at least 20 million keystrokes, there is no doubt that it is a mouse that has been designed to offer the user great durability, These buttons are slightly curved to offer a much more comfortable grip and are perfectly accessible to the fingers without any effort. On the back we find the logo of the brand that this time is part of the lighting system.

At the bottom we find the high-end PixArt PMW3336 sensor with a maximum resolution of 10, 800 DPI, 30G and 150 IPS, making it a mouse with very high levels of precision and that will satisfy all players, no matter how demanding they are.

At the end of the 2 meter USB cable we find the USB connector of a rather large size and gold plated for better conservation over time and better contact.

Skiller SGM1 Software

The Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 mouse can be used without the need to install any software, although we highly recommend its installation in order to take full advantage of it. The software can be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer, once downloaded its installation is extremely easy.

We open the software and we find a great interface in which we have all the menus accessible in a very simple way, so we can have all the parameters at hand at all times. We can create multiple profiles for games with which we can have our mouse always prepared for different situations of use, something that is very appreciated. Thus we will always have at hand different button configurations and all the mouse parameters.

Through the software we can assign the functions that we want to its twelve programmable buttons in a very simple and intuitive way. We find functions as varied and advanced as typical of a mouse, keyboard events such as save, cut, paste, select, search…, functions related to the playback of multimedia files, adjustment of DPI values, profile change and a powerful manager macros.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Cooler Master V750 Review

We continue with the possibility of configuring the mouse lighting in intensity, light effect (breathing, continuous and color change) and the speed in case we choose the breathing mode or color change. Being an RGB system we can configure the lighting in no less than 16.8 million colors, something that will allow us to give a unique touch to our mouse.

To finish we find the mouse sensor settings, we can configure its seven DPI profiles in values ranging from 50 to 10, 800 in ranges of 50. We also find the polling rate setting at 125/250/750/1000 Hz, the double click speed and scroll wheel speed. Finally we highlight the possibility of configuring the sensitivity of the X and Y axes. As we can see, it is a very configurable mouse so it will be easy to leave it to our liking.

Final words and conclusion about ThunderX3 TM60

The Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 is the top of the range mouse of the brand and has left us with very positive feelings during our tests. First of all we highlight its weight adjustment system that allows us to adapt it to different situations in a very simple way, whether you are looking for a high sliding speed or greater precision, you will be able to achieve them in a very easy way. Its high precision sensor is also very configurable and we have no less than 7 DPI modes so we can have it configured for many usage environments in a few seconds.

We recommend reading our guide to the best mice for PC.

We continue with a design that feels comfortable in the hand, buttons with switches of the best quality, a good quality sensor and a highly configurable lighting system, it has everything to be one of the protagonists of our desk. The movement of the mouse is excellent, getting to work in perfect conditions on various surfaces, although as always, if we want to obtain the best result, the ideal is to use a mat. Whether you are a gamer or another type of user, the Sharkoon Skiller SGM1 will provide you with a very pleasant mouse to use for all your tasks.
