Snapdragon 8150 appears in geekbench and can't with apple a12

Now that Apple's A12 Bionic and Huawei's Kirin 980 have been released, all eyes are on Qualcomm to see if the latest chip (Snapdragon 8150) will be able to deliver faster performance than these two and the Exynos 9820 chipset. Next-gen Samsung.

The new chip appears to be made using TSMC's 7nm FinFET process and could have a 5G modem, which Qualcomm could also sell separately to its partners. The first set of results has already appeared in Geekbench, but they are based on a reference device, not the recently announced FlexPai.

Apparently, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 chip would have a new architecture, which will be similar to the Kirin 980's triple cluster. This will include 4 Kryo Silver cores for lighter task management, 2 Kryo Gold cores for sustained speeds, and 2 Kryo Gold Plus cores for support speeds. This is a leap from the 4 + 4 configuration, which means that we can expect an increase in performance from real devices featuring this SoC.

The results of the new Qualcomm chip

Geekbench's results reveal that Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8150 chip appears to be a much-improved successor to the Snapdragon 845. The device achieved a multi-core score of 10, 084, which is lower than Apple's A12 Bionic score. In the single-core test, the score is 3, 181, an interesting improvement over the SP845, but it can't compare to the A12 Bionic's single-core performance.

These are only initial results and it is not known if the processor was exploiting its full potential when tested. Also, one of the best facets of the Snapdragon is the Adreno GPU, but we can't say anything until we see other evidence of its graphics performance.
