Sony patents new controls for its psvr system

PlayStation VR (PSVR) is surely the virtual reality device with the best catalog of video games, in addition to being the most affordable. Its main weak point is the Move controllers, something that will be solved soon with new controls that have been patented by Sony.
PSVR could have new controls soon
Sony has filed a new patent in Japan that introduces a new controller that appears to be the perfect replacement for the Move. The overall form factor may seem a bit similar, but there are several important differences, including what looks like an analog device in the middle. The lack of this element in the current Move has proven to be a big problem for PSVR games that feature smooth movement, a problem that could be solved in the future.
Sony cuts the price of its PSVR system to improve its competitiveness
The new controller appears to be equipped with a wide range of buttons, including the trigger on the back and what looks like four buttons along with the circular home button on top. Something we don't know for now is whether this controller could solve Move's occlusion issues, preventing them from working properly when the PSVR camera can't see them. Another patent mentions that it is possible to track the location of the user's fingers, so we might see some sort of manual tracking in this new Sony-patented controller.
Despite how interesting these patents are, there is no way of knowing if Sony will ever launch these drivers, this patent was filed in July 2016 so there is a great possibility that the final design has been altered with respect to what is discussed here.
