The two main differences between these two units are their updated cabling and the ability to use HDR technology in Sony's new PSVR processing unit. The new version, model number CUH-ZVR2, features an updated design that allows stereo headphone cables to be integrated with the PSVR system and a slimmer, more streamlined connection cable. There's also an updated processor unit that supports HDR, allowing users to enjoy HDR-compatible PS4 content on a television without having to disconnect the processor unit between the television and the PS4 system. This function can only be used when the system is turned off.

Sony has stated that PSVR package prices will not change with the release of the new review, which means that new buyers will have to be careful to make sure they get this new model when it launches. Sony will use different packaging for its new system.
