Sony has announced that it is creating a new version of its PSVR system to be released under model number CUH-ZVR2 and it comes with redesigned elements and some new features.

Major device specs such as screen resolution and refresh rate are expected to remain unchanged with this new model to offer full compatibility with all existing PSVR titles.

The two main differences between these two units are their updated cabling and the ability to use HDR technology in Sony's new PSVR processing unit. The cables will be thinner and more streamlined, while Sony's updated processing unit will be able to deliver HDR images to the TV when the PSVR is turned off. This function can only be used when the VR headset is turned off.
A hardware update for PlayStation VR is in the works. The new version, model number CUH-ZVR2, features an updated design that allows stereo headphone cables to be integrated with the PSVR system and a slimmer, more streamlined connection cable. There's also an updated processor unit that supports HDR, allowing users to enjoy HDR-compatible PS4 content on a television without having to disconnect the processor unit between the television and the PS4 system. This function can only be used when the system is turned off.
Sony has stated that PSVR package prices will not change with the release of the new review, which means that new buyers will have to be careful to make sure they get this new model when it launches. Sony will use different packaging for its new system.
