Intel had significantly rebalanced the cache hierarchy of its multi-core Skylake processors for HEDT with higher amounts of faster L2 cache and lower amounts of slower shared L3 caches. It seems that with the new Tiger Lake processors there will be a new cache redesign.

Based on this listing, assuming Geekbench is reading the platform correctly, the "Tiger Lake-Y" processor has a 4-core, 8-thread CPU with a normal capacity of 1, 280 KB (1.25 MB) of L2 cache per core, and 12MB of L3 cache. Intel also expanded the L1D cache (data) to 48 KB in size, while the L1I cache (instructions) is still 32 KB.
