AMD would launch Ryzen 3000 in July, with an announcement on Computex
This year's Computex will be held between May 28 and June 1, more than a month before the rumored launch date, which would be exactly July 7. Ryzen 3000 series processors and compatible X570 motherboards are expected to be available simultaneously on that date. So far, AMD's official statements regarding Ryzen processors for desktops have indicated a launch in mid-2019.
The third-generation Ryzen processors from AMD will be released with PCIe 4.0 support and will be compatible with current AM4 motherboards, as promised. AMD's rumored increase in core count is not expected to negatively impact existing motherboards, thanks to both the increased efficiency of its Zen 2 core design and the use of TSMC's 7nm node, which should help add more cores and higher density of transistors with a similar matrix size.
Several manufacturers have already advanced that they support the new AMD processors
This means that those with an AM4 motherboard will be able to mount one of these processors only with a BIOS update using.
It is unknown at this time how the new AM4 motherboard designs will benefit AMD's Ryzen 3000 series processors, although features like Precision Boost and Extended Frequency Range are likely to be enhanced with new motherboard designs.
Before Computex, AMD would approach the GDC in March, precisely to discuss the new Zen 2 architecture, providing more details about the improvements it will bring. Although they are not expected to make any announcements there.
