Huawei prepares to start production of its new high-end processor. This is Kirin 985, which is expected to be introduced in the Mate 30 later this year. Last year the Chinese brand was the first to leave us with a 7nm processor, which was produced by TSMC. It seems that in this case they will continue with the same strategy.

Since the production of this new processor is going to start this same quarter, as several media already report. As usual, TSMC is in charge of it.

For this new processor, TSMC will make use of its new Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography technology, better known as EUL. Thanks to it, it is expected that the production process of a 7nm processor will be simpler, faster and therefore cheaper. An aspect that is undoubtedly essential in this regard, to reduce costs later on the smartphone.

For now no further details have been given about this Huawei processor. Although it is expected that it will be the first of the brand to bring 5G natively, at least this is what has been mentioned for months. But the company has not said anything.

So surely in these weeks we will hear more about this Kirin 985 and its production process. Its market launch should take place in the autumn, between October and November, when the Mate 30 arrives.
