Twitter generates less income and the number of users does not grow

This week the main technology companies present their quarterly results. Twitter has been one of the last. There were many questions about what to expect from these quarterly results. The social network has been down for a while and it seems that nothing they do works to win new users.

Twitter's revenue has been better than analysts expected. Finally, the company's quarterly revenue has stood at $ 573.9 million. Which is a decrease of 4.7% compared to the same quarter last year. Taking into account that analysts expected a decrease of 11% compared to last year, the result has been better, although it is not positive.

Twitter does not win users

Although the benefits improve slightly, user numbers do not. Twitter gained 9 million users in this quarter. The highest growth since 2015. Analysts expected active users to stand at 328.8 million. Finally, 328 million users have remained, exactly the same as in the first quarter. So the social network has not gained monthly active users. In fact, in the United States it has lost 2 million active users.

Despite this, from Twitter they affirm that 12% more users visit the social network daily. Although, analysts consider that all the efforts that have been made to gain users have not been successful. Many see that the fight against fake accounts has had an influence on this aspect.

Once all expenses are discounted, the quarterly result of Twitter is again worrisome. It stands at a loss of 116 million dollars. So the social network continues without generating positive results. And the situation begins to be worrying. What will happen to Twitter?
