The coronavirus crisis affects all kinds of companies worldwide. Uber is also taking action in the face of this crisis. Uber suspends accounts of users possibly exposed to the coronavirus
Apparently, a user originating from Wuhan used his services in the app. After that, it was decided to suspend the account of those who were in contact, as a provisional measure.
Measures against coronavirus
Uber is not the first company to take action in the face of the expansion of the coronavirus worldwide. Many firms are temporarily closing their stores in China, as is the case with Apple or are reducing production. So they are measures that clearly affect the activity of these companies. In this case it is something exclusive, for now, in Mexico.
Although it would not be unusual if there are indications that people who could have been exposed to the virus have used Uber, their accounts are temporarily canceled, to prevent them from using these services and potentially infect other people.
We will see what other measures are taken these weeks, given the spread of the virus and the concern that it generates worldwide. What is clear is that many companies see how their activity is affected by this virus.
