Assassin's Creed Origins is the latest shot put by Ubisoft and is not leaving the gaming community indifferent, the new installment of the saga brings a breath of fresh air after many years stuck in the same but it has not been free from problems and controversies, especially regarding micropayments and performance problems.

Assassin's Creed Origins has performance issues on PC due to DRM

Ubisoft has released the first patch for Assassin's Creed Origins and its objective is none other than to improve the performance of a game that is being excessively demanding in terms of technical requirements, especially in the CPU section. This first patch weighs 1.1 GB and is on a mission to improve game stability and performance.

At the moment it is not known what exactly Ubisoft has done in order to improve the performance offered by the game. At first it was thought that its optimization is bad but then it was discovered that the high CPU usage is due to the implementation of a double DRM system with the intention of protecting Denuvo from crackers.

Denuvo is the most advanced DRM system in existence but it has only been a matter of time that crackers have become accustomed to its secrets and there is no longer a title that can resist them. Ubisoft has fixed the problem by putting VMProtect as a second DRM that protects Denuvo from being broken. This causes the game to overuse the processor and its performance is poor on computers with only four logical cores.

We will have to wait for the first tests to see if Assassin's Creed Origins has really improved its performance or if, on the contrary, the situation has not changed much.
