Ubuntu 17.04 enters the feature freeze stage
Canonical has communicated to the entire community of developers and users that Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) has just entered the Feature Freeze stage, as planned in the release schedule of this Linux operating system.
The next step towards the final version of Ubuntu 17.04 was taken yesterday, with the Feature Freeze stage. In this new stage, no new features can be added to the operating system, but only critical corrections can be made, this until the Feature Freeze stage is finished.
If we follow the Ubuntu release schedule, on February 23 we should receive the first Beta of Ubuntu 17.04. This Beta version would only be available for some more popular distro like Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu Kylin, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu and possibly Ubuntu Studio.

The second Beta should arrive on March 23, which will also have a Final freeze version later to refine the last details. The final version of Ubuntu 17.04 is scheduled for April 13, probably with the novelty of Linux Kernel 4.10 and an updated graphics stack, based on the Mesa 17.0 3D graphics library and X.Org Server.
Most of the applications available in the repositories or that are pre-installed will also be updated.
