Phishing attack on netflix collects credit card information
Table of contents:
Services like Netflix or Amazon have become targets of cybercriminals. So an attack or scam that involves them is usually revealed. This time, Netflix is the target, who is again attacked through phishing with the aim of stealing user data.
Phishing attack on Netflix collects credit card information
A new campaign has been detected, which aims to obtain the information of users' credit cards. Cybercriminals are using email as a means of reaching users. Although, it seems that both users who use Netflix and those who do not use the streaming service are receiving these messages.
Theft of credit card data
The email that is sent uses the Netflix image, so there are users who believe that it is a message that the service is sending them. When in reality it is not like that. The idea is that users log in to the streaming service and fill out a form with their personal data, including your credit card number. Once finished, the form is sent. That's when the problems for the user start.
In this process, the user has provided both the credentials to log in to the platform and the details of his credit card. So criminals can use your card to carry out unwanted transactions. Although, there is one more problem. Most commonly, users use the same email and password on other services, so attackers have access.
If you get an email claiming to be from Netflix asking you to log in, be wary. It is a scam that seeks to obtain your personal data for inappropriate use.
