The Unicode Consortium continues to work on making the list of new emojis that will be part of Unicode 12 in the next year of 2019. Little by little we have been meeting some candidates and now, a few more are joining.

More emojis for next year

In the year 2019 the twelfth version of Unicode will make its debut which will include new emoji characters. Recently, Emojipedia has shared some details about the new emoji candidates that have been suggested for inclusion in the new version. These new Unicode 12 candidates include guide dogs (used by blind people), deaf people, and pairs of people of different breeds.

Because the list of emojis has not yet been definitively made, it is likely that not all of these candidates will be included in the next version, but without a doubt they will reach the different platforms such as iOS, Android and others, if the Consortium finally approves them.

These new emoji suggestions join others suggested for the year 2019, including a diving mask, a Hindu temple, a white heart, an ice cube, laziness, flamenco, skunk, ballet shoes, a falafel, onion, garlic, otter and more.

The full list of Unicode 12 emoji candidates is available on Emojipedia. Apple is likely to add the new Unicode 12 emoji to iOS, macOS, and Apple Watch devices sometime in the fall of 2019, just as Android would do in the version of the system that will be released that same year. for the moment, it is expected that in the fall of this year Apple will implement the Unicode 11 version to iOS 12, a version that will be released next fall officially.

On the other hand, some emoji proposals have already been made for 2010, coinciding with the Unicode 12 version, including ninjas, military helmets, a mammoth, feathers, a dodo, a magic wand, woodworking saw or a screwdriver.
