Viewsonic xg3220 review in Spanish (full analysis)

We continue to analyze monitors from ViewSonic, one of the best manufacturers of this type of product. Today we have in our test bench the ViewSonic XG3220, a model focused on gaming that mounts a 32-inch panel with 4K resolution, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, AMD FreeSync technology and the best image quality for the most demanding users.. Will it pass the tests in our laboratory?

Unboxing and design

The ViewSonic XG3220 comes perfectly accommodated inside a large cardboard box, two pieces of cork are in charge of protecting it in the best possible way, in between, the monitor is covered by a very soft bag to protect its panel from scratches during the transport.

Next to the monitor we see all the accessories in departments that are in charge of preventing its movement. The exterior design of the box is quite simple, although it alerts us to the most important characteristics of this model. Your bundle is made up of:

The mounting of the base is very simple, since we only have to order it on the back of the monitor and put the included screws to fix it. This base allows you to adjust the height by 100 mm, rotate up to 90º, pivot right and left between 0º and 90º and tilt back and forth by up to 5º and 15º. It is an ergonomic base, something important for users who spend many hours with the PC every day.

We turn to look at the monitor panel. This is a 32-inch model with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, four times higher than FullHD to enjoy much superior sharpness, this monitor offers a wider image of your games so you can see the entire battlefield in everything its splendor.

An exclusive ColorX game mode offers optimal viewing and speed, while an arsenal of customizable preset viewing modes allow you to be ready for any FPS, RTS or MOBA game scenario.

The panel is made with MVA technology, which offers great image quality at the height of the best IPS, but with the advantage of having a higher contrast of 3000: 1 to achieve very deep blacks. This is an 8-bit + Hi-FRC panel, offering 1.07 trillion colors with 300 nits brightness, a typical GtG response time of 9.5 ms and a minimum of 5 ms, and viewing angles 178º in both planes.

ViewSonic has included AMD FreeSync technology that perfectly synchronizes the image frequency output between the graphics card and the monitor, with a maximum of 60 Hz, allowing you to enjoy very fluid games, while avoiding the annoying cuts in the image.

ViewSonic XG3220 also includes a low input latency mode, better known as Imput Lag. Thanks to this, you can react more quickly to what happens on the battlefield, which is a competitive advantage over rivals who do not have this technology. Added to this is ViewSonic's black stabilization function, which offers greater visibility and detail in dark scenes so that no enemy is safe from your bullets. This system offers 22 customizable levels of black stabilization control to dominate the competition.

All the parameters of the ViewSonic XG3220 monitor are managed through six included buttons and a complete OSD that offers us the following functions: Automatic image adjustment, contrast / brightness, input selection, audio adjustment, color adjustment, information, manual adjustment of image, advanced image adjustment, configuration menu and memory recovery.

This ViewSonic XG3220 offers multiple connectivity options in the form of 5 USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.2 port and a headphone output. A very wide connectivity, to adjust to the needs of all users. It also includes two 5W stereo speakers each.

Although we also liked the color detail a few helmets or virtual glasses on the base stand. Are you cool?

At the back we find the VESA 100 x 100 mounting bracket, ideal for those who want to hang it on the wall. Finally, its typical power consumption is 50W, with a maximum of 92W, which demonstrates great energy efficiency.

OSD menu

As expected, we have a very complete OSD menu. The direct access with the switch "G" allows us to choose ideal profiles to play, edit photos or create up to 4 customizable profiles.

While the general panel we have more advanced options to adjust gaming profiles, screen, select the video input, the viewing mode, adjust the sound and a general menu. Very good work Viewsonic!

Final words and conclusion about ViewSonic XG3220

We are increasingly surprised by Viewsonic with its products and its ViewSonic XG3220 monitor could not be less. Its 32 inches with VA panel and 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 px), 5 ms response time and its connections (4 USB 3.0, 2 HDMI 2.0, 1 USB 3.0 Type B, 1 Displayport and a 3.5 audio output mm) makes it a super interesting option.

Remind you that VA panels have the good thing about TN panels and IPS panels. It has a better color dynamic range, dark situations do not bleed and are ideal for gaming. Although for graphic design we recommend the use of IPS monitors, this time, we also recommend the XG3220 panel.

To carry out our tests we have tested the monitor in our three preferred scenarios:

Office automation and graphic design: The monitor fulfills its objective very well in this regard. Although its panel is VA, being of the highest quality, it allows us to retouch photography without any problem (As I always tell you, when you buy a new monitor I recommend calibrating it) and edit video with a lot of space. At the office level, the office package is quite well optimized for this resolution and we only need to increase the Zoom to have a more optimal readability. Games: Without a doubt, it is its strongest point. With FreeSync technology, its low response time and the quality of the panel offers us an ideal experience while we play. Our games to Fortnite and Unknown Player Battleground (PUBG) have been ten. Movies and series: By having a good scaling with the resolution 1920 x 1080 it has been more than enough while we watch a couple of movies and our favorite series. We loved it!

We would also like to highlight the excellent quality offered by its integrated speakers. If you do not need to have speakers on your desk, surely with which this monitor is equipped is more than enough. The only improvement that we see is that you should take more care of the frames, we see them a little thick, for the rest we see a monitor of 10.

We have seen that in the United States we can find it for $ 599. In Spain its price is estimated at 749 euros, if it is confirmed in the main stores, we will have possibly the best quality / price monitor on the market with a 4K panel. What do you think about this new Viewsonic monitor?
