At the beginning of the year, CES 2017 was used to announce the new In Win 301 PC chassis with a very compact size and excellent characteristics, shortly after the In Win 301C White was released, which is the version we analyzed on this occasion, its characteristics are the same as those of the original model except for the addition of a USB Type-C port and its attractive design in white.

Unboxing and design

In Win is committed to a very careful presentation for its In Win 301C White chassis, it comes in a cardboard box with a fairly simple appearance although the really important thing is inside.

The chassis is very well accommodated by several pieces of cork that prevent it from moving during transport to the hands of the end user. A bag is responsible for avoiding possible scratches on its delicate surface.

In Win 301C White is a fairly compact PC chassis that allows the installation of a motherboard with a Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX form factor inside, giving the user enough freedom in this regard. With this it is a chassis much more compact than traditional ATX although of course this will not be a problem to place the most advanced hardware inside. In Win 301C White reaches dimensions of 208 x 370 x 365 mm with a weight of 6.57 Kg. As for the CPU heatsink, it supports a maximum height of 158 mm so we can put quite large and powerful models.

We are talking about one of the best brands when it comes to manufacturing PC chassis and it shows from the first moment, I n Win 301C White is manufactured for the most part using 1.2 mm thick SECC steel and that it is responsible of its high weight to be of a quite reduced size, a high quality material that joins a design with quite angular edges.

A large tempered glass panel with a thickness of 3 mm has been placed on the main side, this has a tinted finish and allows its removal in a very simple way to access the interior of the system. We are in the RGB era, so all manufacturers are committed to placing a window in almost all their chassis, in this case In Win has opted for glass that offers a quality and appearance far superior to methacrylate.

On the other side, some hexagonal perforations are seen, this has the function of improving the air flow inside the equipment, something very important when it is housed to host a high-end configuration that consumes a lot of energy and therefore generates great amount of heat.

As for the front, it also sports a very clean design as usual in the brand, the only thing that stands out is the brand logo along with the entire set of buttons and connection ports. Specifically, we find the power and reset buttons, 3.5 mm Jack connectors for audio and micro, two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 3.1 Type-C port to be up to date.

Both the logo and the ports are surrounded by red LEDs that form a striking lighting system that is useful beyond aesthetics since it will help us find the connectors if we are in the dark.

Now we look at the back of In Win 301C White, the first thing that will draw attention to more than one is that the installation area of the power supply is at the top and not at the bottom, which is the most recommended.

This has the disadvantage that part of the hot air generated during the operation of the hardware reaches the source, although it also has the advantage that it leaves us more space at the bottom for the graphics card, specifically in this In Win 301C White we can put cards up to 33 cm. It is not the first time that we see the source at the top in an In Win chassis. In this back we find only four expansion slots, so double slot cards cannot be installed under the motherboard.

We highlight both the removable filter and its two sturdy legs, which will allow the tower to be well fixed on our table or floor.

Interior and assembly

To open the box, just press the top button in the main window. In a practical and quick way we will have access to the interior of our precious tower.

Regarding cooling, the In Win 301C White is sold without any fan installed as standard, the user can place a maximum of five 120mm fans that are divided into two front fans, two in the lower area and one in the rear area.

The performance of the front fans will be low since the front panel does not have any type of perforation to let the air pass, on the contrary, the lower area is very porous and has an anti-dust filter.

The storage possibilities of In Win 301C White are quite good although, not surprisingly, its small size means that it is not one of the chassis with a greater number of bays for hard drives. We can place a 3.52 ”or 2.5” drive next to two 2.5 ”drives, with this we can place a single mechanical disk and / or SSD.

Finally, we leave you an example of the installation of an ITX B350 motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 3 processor, 16 GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 550 graphics card.

Final words and conclusion about In Win 301C White

The In Win 301C is positioned among our favorite boxes with ITX factor. It incorporates everything you need: a very cool design (at least in black), a window to see all the components, easy and quick access, a very intuitive instruction guide and compatible with high-end material.

We found some points to improve . The first and most fundamental is that it does not incorporate a pre-installed fan, we believe that it is mandatory to have at least one at the exit and another at the entrance . The second improvement is the management of the power supply wiring, which is quite tedious when moving it to the connections on the motherboard.

Regarding cooling, it allows us to install a high profile heatsink and even double grill liquid cooling on the front. This box is amazing!

It is currently online in European stores and its price ranges from 99.50 euros. We believe that for this price, it is very difficult to find a box with mATX / itx format of these characteristics?
