The next Windows 10 update, nicknamed the "Anniversary Update" , will officially arrive on July 29, it will be free and will provide a series of interesting news for users of this Microsoft operating system, but many may decide not to apply this update, especially in those teams that are more modest.

Windows 10 will require a minimum of 2GB of RAM

Microsoft has confirmed that the memory requirements of Windows 10 are going to increase twice as much from this new big update and a minimum of 2GB of RAM will be required in the system to function properly. Until now, the minimum requirement was 1GB of memory and this was the case since Windows 7 approximately, it is the first time in 7 years that the Windows operating system increases its memory requirements.

For those computers with 1GB of RAM, Microsoft explains that the update can still be installed but it will not work at full capacity, and by itself, Windows 10 with 1GB was not the most recommended either, because now it works worse. This is bad news, especially for manufacturers, who will have to increase the amount of memory if they want to sell Windows 10 computers.

Windows requirements increase after 7 years

In a previous article in Profesionalreview, we did a little review of the news that will include the update "Anniversary" of Windows 10, which highlights a new start menu, improvements in the notification center, support for styluses on touch screens, Windows Ink, and increased Cortana performance, among other new and improved features.

This "Anniversary" update will be available for free on July 29, hopefully it will not be forcibly installed and users can choose not to update if they wish.
