We've barely had time to get our feet wet with the recently released April update for Windows 10, though if you're eager to see what Microsoft has in store for its upcoming Redstone 5 update, you can do so through its Windows Insider program.
Windows 10 Redstone 5 (build 17677)
Microsoft has released another version of Redstone 5, so that we are opening mouths, although for now, with very little news for those who belong to the Windows Insider program.
The new version (17677) is available on Windows Insider for fast ring subscribers. Naturally, there are likely to be various bugs and, in some cases, broken features, so you should probably avoid the snap ring if you are on a daily use computer. On the other hand, those who can afford to deal with potential problems may experience new features before everyone else.
In this case, build 17677 introduces several enhancements to Microsoft's Edge browser, including a redesigned menu for settings. Microsoft says the redesign makes it easy to find various options, which are now organized into groups with icons for each entry and keyboard shortcuts where appropriate.
Microsoft also made it easy to organize the tab groups that users separated. The new version introduces improvements to Narrator, kernel debugging, and Task Manager (when it comes to memory reporting), and makes a makeover of mobile broadband (LTE) connectivity, plus of many, many bug fixes.
Redstone 5 will probably arrive in late September or early October on all Windows 10 computers.
