Xbox one loses its snap feature to gain performance

Snap is an Xbox One feature that allows us to have a sidebar with an application while we have the game image in full screen, something very useful for users who want or need to do streaming functions, control the music player or record the game.

Xbox One removes Snap to gain performance

The next Xbox One Creators Update will take down Snap in a Microsoft attempt to free up available resources for game execution and thus improve the performance of a console that has been technically far outpaced by Sony's Playstation 4 Pro. Without a doubt an important stick for users who chose the Xbox One over the PS4 for having bet more on multimedia content than the Sony console.

We replaced Snap to improve multitasking, reduce memory use, improve overall speed, and free up resources going forward for bigger things.

Microsoft has to put up with the Playstation 4 Pro with its current Xbox One until the arrival of the Project Scorpio, a new console that, supposedly, will be much more powerful than Sony thanks to the use of Vega / Polaris graphics along with a much more powerful CPU based on Zen cores.
