One year after its landing in Spain and after spending twelve months with truly limited availability, the Apple Pay mobile payment platform continues its expansion and since yesterday it has been available to OpenBank and N 26 customers.

Apple Pay reaches more users

Now a year ago that Apple's mobile payment platform arrived in our country, however, the initial joy soon fell on deaf ears for many users since Apple Pay only came from Banco Santander, Carrefour Pass and American Express. Even so, little by little things are changing and those of us who use the iPhone daily already have more payment options.

Caixa Bank and Imagin Bank were among the last entities to offer support for Apple Pay since in fact, they joined the platform just a month ago. Shortly afterwards we learned that two new entities would join before the end of the year and, indeed, this has been the case. Since yesterday, also the users of N 26 and OpenBank can pay for our purchases using our iPhone or Apple Watch and without having to remove the card for it.

Yesterday at noon, and after almost a year of waiting, I received an email informing me that I could already use my OpenBank debit card with Apple Pay. So I did not waste a second and in the middle of the street I proceeded to add my card to the Wallet app on my iPhone.

The process is really simple, open the app, press the "+" symbol and point the iPhone camera at your card. It will automatically take the number of the same, the expiration date and the name that appears on your "plastic". Now you just have to enter the CVV code and voilà ! , you can start enjoying the comfort and security of Apple Pa y.
