Good news, because YouTube adds support for HDR videos. The guys from YouTube, from Google, today announced that their platform supports HDR. As you may know, this mode allows you to achieve a better quality of vision and a balance of white, black and better color explosion. Along with the incredible quality of 4K, HDR technology is another point in favor of many TVs that are being launched on the market, however, there are not too many HDR contents, but now thanks to YouTube support we could start enjoying more.
YouTube adds support for HDR videos
YouTube wants users to be able to enjoy HDR videos on its video platform. They have decided to adopt this format because they believe the time has come to do so. These guys have already done this adaptation process with 4K content or 360-degree videos, so this support for HDR videos would be next.
If YouTube wants to remain a benchmark, it has to adapt to new technologies, so that it stands out above its main competitors such as Netflix.
What do I need to enjoy HDR?
Good hardware. This is where Google's Chromecast Ultra comes in (for example). You can also enjoy it if you use a good Blu-ray HDR player or without going any further on the Xbox One S. However, many TVs begin to be launched on the market with this technology and en masse, it is a matter of time that it is done as popular as 4K.
We could see a lot of HDR content in the coming months
If everything goes smoothly, we may find over the months on YouTube many channels and HDR content creators, to fill the video platform with many HDR videos. For this, we would still have to wait a few more months.
We do not know an exact date, so we will follow the issue closely.
