Zadak unveils world's first 32gb 'dual-capacity' ddr4 memory
Table of contents:
ZADAK has unveiled its first 'dual capacity' DDR4 memory module, offering the world's first 32GB DRAM module for the consumer market, exceeding the 16GB typically found in high-end memory kits.
ZADAK managed to double the memory capacity of standard DDR4 modules
PC Watch has reported that this module is likely to be released with clock speeds of 3, 200MHz, based on the module name; "SHIELD DC AURA 2 RGB DDR 4 3200".
To achieve its insane 32GB per module capacity, ZADAK has created this memory with twice as many chips as a regular DDR4 DRAM, with two layers of chips on each side of the memory module. Each module will have sixteen chips on each side of the module, providing end users with a total of 32 8Gb (1GB) DDR4 DRAM chips to deliver a total of 32GB of memory capacity.
The main downside to this design change is the fact that ZADAK 'dual capacity' DRAMs ship with larger module sizes than standard DDR4 memories, which can cause compatibility issues with some air coolers and systems AIO, depending on the user's hardware configuration. It is also not known whether or not these new "dual capacity" memory modules require specific hardware support on the motherboard side or new BIOS revisions.
ZADAK's dual capacity DRAM modules also support an RGB technology called 'AURA 2 RGB', which is compliant with ASUS AURA Sync technology. At this time it is not known when they will be available for purchase or at what prices they will.
