Gigabyte's presence in the PC chassis market has been very discreet to date, in fact in recent years they have not presented any proposal or at least they have not made it within the high range. Gigabyte Aorus AC300W supposes the market launch of the brand's first chassis in quite some time and the first that it does within its Aorus gaming sub-brand, so we already have an idea of what its intentions are with this new product.

We thank Gigabyte Aorus for trusting the product for their analysis:
Gigabyte Aorus AC300W technical features
Unboxing and design
Gigabyte Aorus AC300W comes inside a large cardboard box, the chassis is very well accommodated and protected by cork pieces and a plastic bag to prevent damage during transport.
Its bundle is quite simple and it is made up of:
- Chassis Aorus AC300W Screws for the installation of all components Quick installation guide
It is a new PC chassis that is built with a brushed metal finish that is great to look at, it looks very elegant while denoting the great quality of the materials used in its construction.
It is a chassis with sharp edges, simple lines and a large acrylic window as we will see later.
It is built almost entirely with a combination of high quality aluminum and SECC steel, the use of plastic is reserved only for the front.
The front has a very solid appearance although its design has been thought so that it does not excessively limit the air flow in this area where a standard 120mm fan has been installed at the bottom. We can add two additional 120mm fans or put two 140mm totals as we prefer. Gigabyte has installed a dust filter in this front area to protect the interior of the equipment from dirt.
At the top we also see a dust filter in the installation area of two 120 mm fans to improve air flow inside the equipment. This filter has a magnetic design and we can quickly remove it.
On the front we find the I / O panel that includes an HDMI port to use virtual reality headsets in a very simple way, a USB 3.0 Type-C port has also been placed next to two USB 3.0 ports and the typical connectors of 3.5 mm for audio and micro. There is also no lack of power buttons and lighting control.
Speaking of lighting, the Gigabyte Aorus AC300W includes an RGB system in its two logos and also includes a strip on the front panel to offer a very attractive aesthetic. The control button is very limited since it only allows you to turn the lighting on and off, if you want something more complex you will have to use the Gigabyte RGB Fusion software.
We come to the side window, this is very large so that we can see the interior of the team perfectly. What we did not like is that it is an acrylic window and not tempered glass.
At the back we see a total of 7 expansion slots, next to the 120 mm fan area and the power supply area at the bottom as it should be.
While in the lower area it has non-slip rubber feet so that it is well fixed on the table or on the floor. Gigabyte has done an excellent job in this regard and its new chassis looks great.
Inside
To access the interior of the Gigabyte Aorus AC300W we only have to remove a couple of hand screws from the main side, once the chassis is opened we appreciate a quite spacious design that will allow us to work comfortably. The support screws for the motherboard are already standard, so we save some work when assembling the equipment. It is compatible with ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards so it will adjust to the needs of all users.
Something very interesting is that it allows us to mount the graphics card vertically with the help of an attached bracket and the dedicated slots on the back. A riser is not included so we will have to purchase it separately if we want to take advantage of this functionality .
As for the 2.5 ”hard drives, all of them will be installed behind the motherboard or under the area of the power supply, the units are fixed with a hand screw so we do not need any tools for it.
We also offer a cage with two 3.5 ”bays that also accept 2.5” units, we can remove this cage if we are not going to use it.
We reached the area of the power supply and we see that it covers almost the entire depth of the chassis although a space of 40 mm has been left with the front fan. This means that if we want the fan we have 60 mm of space to place a 360 mm 280 mm radiator. In the upper area we can also put a 240mm or 280mm radiator making it a well-prepared chassis for liquid cooling.
Finally we see the cable of the HDMI port on the front panel, this will have to be connected to a dedicated port of the graphics card since it cannot be connected to traditional ports, there are few cards that include this extra functionality but Gigabyte itself has several in its catalog.
Final words and conclusion about Aorus AC300W
The Aorus AC300W is a mid-range chassis with the ability to install high-end hardware. Aesthetically we liked it a lot by incorporating a simulation of brushed aluminum on the front, also for its wide variety of filters (superior magnetic) and the possibilities of installing various liquid cooling kits. It is a pleasure!
It also allows the installation of heatsinks with a height of 17 cm, graphics cards with a length of 40 cm and in an upright position (it does not include a Riser PCI Express as standard) and a power supply with a length of 18 cm. Having 7 slots allows us to install motherboards with ATX, micro-ATX and ITX formats.
We recommend reading the best boxes or chassis on the market
If you have a motherboard and Aorus graphics card with RGB lighting system, you can sync it with the two Aorus Fusion logos. Thus becoming an unconditional fan of Aorus. The end result is impressive! Another detail that we liked a lot is the front HDMI connection to connect our HTC Vive virtual glasses.
It will soon arrive in Spain and its price will be around 90 to 100 euros. We believe that for everything it offers it is great, although we miss a tempered glass window, it would be the icing on a great quality / price box.
