Aorus h5 review in Spanish (full analysis)

Gigabyte has not accustomed us to many sound-related products, although the company will not miss any opportunity to expand its business model. An example of this is the new Aorus H5 headphones with 50mm Beryllium speakers! They promise to offer exceptional sound quality. All this, without forgetting a very comfortable design and an RGB LED lighting system.

We thank Gigabyte Aorus for trusting the product for their analysis:

Aorus H5 technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

Gigabyte always bets on a gala presentation and was not going to be an exception with the Aorus H5, the headset comes in a cardboard box with full color printing of very good quality. On the front we see a great high-quality image of the product that shows us all its details such as RGB lighting, its 50 mm drivers and stereo sound.

On the back we see all its well detailed technical specifications in several languages, including Spanish.

We open the box and we find the following bundle:

  • Detachable Aorus H5 Micro Headset Documentation

Aorus H5 is a new gaming headset that looks spectacular, most of the body is black, although we see some orange details on the pads and the sides, this design perfectly represents the manufacturer's corporate colors, making it a real success in addition to being very pleasing to the eye.

The headset is built in very good quality plastic, the use of this material allows its weight to be really light with a figure of 285 grams, nor will we realize that we carry it on our heads.

Aorus H5 seeks maximum comfort of use, that's why it opts for a double bridge design instead of a more traditional headband, this means that only a very soft and flexible piece of skin rests on the head, this design is a success since the weight that the head has to support is much less than with a classic headband, the same goes for pressure.

The gamers spend many hours in front of the PC so a comfortable design is essential in any self-respecting gaming headset.

This design includes a height adjustment system that adjusts automatically when you put the headset on your head, easier than possible.

This Aorus H5 headset mounts beryllium drivers with a size of 50 mm, these are of the best quality and have been designed to offer a very clear and distortion-free sound. This is the most remarkable aspect of this headset since beryllium offers a sound quality superior to neodymium, the metal that we usually find in almost all the speakers on the gaming market.

These are drivers with a response frequency of 20Hz ~ 20KHz, an impedance of 32Ω and a sensitivity of 100 ± 3dB at 1KHz. In this case it is a stereo sound system, which means that it does not have any virtual 7.1 surround engine, it may seem like a drawback but nothing is further from reality since it will offer a more reliable sound and avoid the drawbacks of 7.1 sound emulation.

In the left earphone are the cable that ends in a USB 2.0 connector and 3.5 mm jack connectors for audio and micro that increase compatibility. There is also a 3.5 mm connector to put the detachable mic, it is a unidirectional mic with a response frequency of 100Hz to 10kHz, an impedance of 2.2k Ohms and a sensitivity of -44dB (+/- 3dB).

This mike features noise cancellation so we can have distraction-free conversations with our comrades in the middle of the battlefield.

We continue with the control knob that is integrated in the cable itself, offers volume adjustment and mute of the mic.

Finally we see its Gigabyte RGB Fusion lighting system, which we will control from the Aorus Graphics Engine application like the rest of the parameters of this impressive gaming headset.

Aorus Engine Software

If you have an Aorus graphics card and you have the Aorus Graphics Engine software installed, we can manage all the lighting of the H5 helmets. What level of customization does it allow us? It lets us enable / disable LED effects, choose from pre-determined lighting profiles, brightness intensity, and choose from a palette of 16.8 million colors. At the level of equalization or audio effects we do not have any additional software, but nothing that we cannot fix with external software.

Final words and conclusion about Aorus H5

Aorus H5 helmets come to the gaming market to meet the needs of users who are looking for the three B's: Good, beautiful and cheap. Among its most notable features we come across 50mm Beryllium speakers, a fairly comfortable ergonomics, an adjustable (and removable) microphone and software that allows us to customize the lighting.

Listening to music they are quite decent, it is true, they are not up to the standards of professional helmets (for example, improvable basses…) but they do their job quite well. Now, while we play, the performance is quite good, since in cooperative shooter games we can easily hear our rivals. For example, in matches with the PUBG game, it has saved us on more than one occasion.

We also liked that it incorporates two minijack connections, which allow us to connect our helmets to a smartphone, game consoles to or our own PC. Being the USB connection the one that activates the LED lighting.

Currently we can find it in online stores for a price that ranges from 65 to 70 euros. We believe that if you are looking for a good gaming headset, these Aorus H5 are a great option. Although the truth is that there is quite a bit of competition in this price range. What do you think about them? ?
